Brief summary of issue / Description of requested feature:
After updating versions of Mudlet on Steam, the first launch fails to load the pre-selected profile's connection settings. The hostname will default to blank and the port will default to 23, then the connection attempt will fail.
Steps to reproduce the issue / Reasons for adding feature:
- Have a previously installed version of CF/Mudlet on Steam (e.g., 4.18.2)
- Update to the latest version (e.g., 4.18.3)
- Hit "Play" to launch the game (launches Mudlet with preselected profile)
- Receive the following error
- Close game/Mudlet
- Hit "Play" to launch the game again
- Connects successfully (it loads profile settings correctly second time onward)
Error output / Expected result of feature
Looking up the IP address of server: :23 ...
[ ERROR ] - Host name lookup Failure!
Connection cannot be established.
The server name is not correct, not working properly,
or your nameservers are not working properly.
Extra information, such as the Mudlet version, operating system and ideas for how to solve / implement:
This has happened to multiple players between versions 4.18.1 -> 4.18.2 -> 4.18.3 so far. We have been suggesting that people quit and relaunch, but would like to identify why the profile connection settings are being ignored if anyone has time to look into it. 🙏
