Regarding https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/terminal/tutorials/new-tab-same-directory#bash: It is suggested to put the snippet in .bashrc that is evaluated on start of every bash process, even nested ones. That causes repeated appending to PROMPT_COMMAND variable.

Who about suggesting to use .bash_profile config file?
