MM freezes itself while doing certain operations, e.g. activating gas and nonce controls.
Steps to reproduce (REQUIRED)
- Go to 'Settings'
- Click on 'Advanced'
- Toggle 'Advanced gas control'
- MM freezes
Expected behavior
For the toggle to switch state

- OS: MacOs 11.0.1
- Browser: FF 83.0
- MetaMask Version: 8.1.9
Additional context (Error Messages, etc.)
Verifying a back up phrase got me the same effect in 8.1.8, clicking whatever the button is to continue after all individual words have been selected does nothing. Could be related.
