With version 22.5.3 I setup a new CalDAV account with server cal.aegee.org, username anonymous, password t.

I notice that the imported events all have “15 Minutes before” reminders, while on the server they contain no alarms. I change under Settings the Default alerts to OFF. When I visit back the CalDAV-imported events, they still have a reminder “15 minutes before”.

To get rid of the reminders, I had to remove the CalDAV account, and add it again.

That said:

• the “Default Alert” preference should be used only as suggestion, when creating events within KashCal. For events, which have arrived over CalDAV, the reminders in that events should not be changed.

The latter means: if no alarms are contained in the events, HashCal should show no alarm.
