Checked with the latest development build (copy version output from About dialog)

• I made a backup of my libraries before testing the latest development version.
• I have tested the latest development version and the problem persists

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

1. Launch JabRef.
2. Create a new empty library.
3. Go to Library → Add entry using… (opens the “New Entry” dialog).

Expected behavior

The “New Entry” dialog should open with the same default size/geometry as before.
No major or unexpected shrink should occur that leaves large unused space.

Actual behavior

After the change, the “New Entry” dialog opens substantially narrower than before.
A large blank area of the main window remains visible on the right.
Recommended-type buttons reflow due to the reduced width (e.g., “Misc” shifts position).

Note

After clicking “Other types”, the increased number of options causes the layout to become crowded.
This is introduced by #14701
