the backstory

in it's current form, it is not possible to use the dpad to navigate the pause menu and also use items equpped to the dpad

in the randomizer branch, i implemented a quick workaround for this issue in the form of another cvar to toggle the ability to modify dpad items briaguya0#169

i'm not the biggest fan of the UX of this workaround, and i think i have an idea for something that would work well

i realized c-up is not used in the pause menu

the idea

holding c-up and pressing a direction on the dpad to equip items to the dpad (possibly only require c-up if dpad menu nav is enabled)
