Adds a PixelMask class that allows masking any pixel data. This PR is aimed at the PixelMap PR #380, because it can be applied to PixelMask. I created a separate PR to separate review efforts/comments.
Also changes the
PixelMap.thresholdfunction tocreate_mask_from_threshod().
