The Pi Slice Rack is the densest solution for mounting multiple Raspberry Pi model B boards into the 10" rack format. Designed for scalability, it is ideal for labs, classrooms, and makerspaces.

Depending on the backbone version you choose. Make sure to get 4 m4 bolts of 10mm length to attach the split sections. make sure to print the backbone and pi standoffs as required by your setup.
To order the aluminium parts.
- Download the provided DXF files from the
/sheet-metaldirectory. - Make sure your CNC vendor is set to use aluminium, 1mm thickness.
- Ensure fold lines are marked as bends, not cuts, in the fabrication instructions.
- You can choose to hand-bend the parts yourself or have them bent by the service you are ordering from.
- Fold the aluminium sheet metal parts as shown in
./img/standoff-img. If you opt for pre-bent parts, ensure your vendor bends them correctly. - Since the Pi standoffs are very low, apply non-conductive tape (such as Kapton tape) to the bottom of each Pi bracket.
- Attach the 10mm M3 standoffs to each Pi bracket using two 5mm M3 bolts to make each bracket assembly rigid.
- Mount each Raspberry Pi to its bracket using four M2.5 8mm bolts and four M2.5 nuts.
- Insert 10 heatset inserts into the backbone, making sure to insert them from the curved side.
- Attach the Pi brackets to the front plate with two M3 8mm bolts, using the two backbones for support.
