research: strategic agent trendslop mitigation (adversarial prompting + multi-perspective) #693

Description

@Aureliolo

Context

HBR research shows LLMs systematically recommend trendy, context-insensitive strategies ("trendslop") regardless of actual business situation. Seven core business tensions all defaulted to the trendy side.

Why This Matters

Directly challenges SynthOrg's strategic agent templates (CFO, CEO roles). If LLMs default to trendslop, agent outputs in strategy roles need structural mitigation, not just good system prompts.

Action Items

  • Review strategic agent templates (CFO, CEO, strategy advisor) for trendslop vulnerability
  • Design adversarial prompting patterns: explicitly request contrarian analysis, opposite viewpoints
  • Evaluate multi-agent debate for strategic decisions (conflicting-perspective agents)
  • Consider "devil's advocate" agent role in meeting protocol for strategic discussions
  • Cross-reference with existing conflict resolution strategies
