Summary
LPT Loopback device, ie what IBM calls "wrap plugs", works in partest, IBM Advanced diagnostics however still seems unhappy, I suspect this is due to it's request to plug in the plug during the test, which, we can't currently do in 86box, but, there's only so many ways that the plugs can be wired (that is to say, two that I'm aware of, and both are implemented)
