The Ladder
A poem and a painting
Let me build a ladder so tall That I may touch the planets each and all. Let me build a ladder so tall That there is no more gravity to make me fall. Let me build a ladder so tall That every problem in the world looks small. Let me build a ladder so tall That I may see beyond each discriminating wall. Let me build a ladder so tall That there is no more selfishness banal. Let me build a ladder so tall That I find pure love and share it with all. Yes, I can build a ladder so tall By letting go of my ego and listening to heart’s call.
