First Tutorial
This is my first tutorial after just having downloaded GIMP the other day. I actually just kept track of what I did and liked how this one turned out so thought I'd share. Its pretty short sweet and to the point I think.

Step 1: Do the typical open, scale and crop of your base to 100x100
Step 2: Duplicate your background layer and sharpen using Unsharp Mask (filters>enhance>unsharp mask)
My settings were:
Radius - 5.3
Amount - 0.79
Threshold - 0
Step 3: Add a new layer and fill with 96d5d4 and set to Overlay 100% Then I didn't like the color it put over the skin in the icon but liked the rest of it so I used the Dodge/Burn tool and just one of the smaller round brushes. On this blue layer I just ran the tool over their faces and the rest of their skin to tone the blue down a little.
I set it to
Type - Dodge
Mode - Midtones
Exposure - 50.0
Pressure sensitivity - Opacity checked and all others unchecked
All other boxes unchecked
Step 4: Add a new layer and fill with 253f3f and set to Subtract 50%
Step 5: Add any brushes, textures, etc that you want and you are finished!
I added "weapon_icons_TinyText23" from [this] brush set
I would love to see what you guys come up with and any comments/questions/critiques much appreciated!
