Hello livejournal! The last time I posted here was 2014! Pandemic who? Apocalypse where?

Coincidently, that's about the last time I made a fanvid. This post is basically just the spoken word verse of "All Eyes on Me."

You guys! I got to go to Vividcon this year and it was A W E S O M E! And I loved everyone in that hotel!

First of all, I want to thank...I don't know who I thank. Everyone! I want to thank everyone for choosing me as the scholarship recipient, which is the only reason I was able to go in the first place. It was totally unexpected but incredibly flattering and wonderful. I still can't quite believe it happened.

I can't being to explain how amazing it was meeting everyone there. It was so great to finally be able to put faces to the names of people I've admired for so long. You're all real!! And you're all lovely!! And thank you to my roommates anoel, talitha78, and par_avion for letting me sneak into their room last minute. anoel, I love you so much. She let me tag along with her and made me feel SO welcome from minute one. She introduced me to everyone and was such an amazing friend all weekend. I don't know what I would have done without her :')

It was such a blast getting to meet hollywoodgrrl, "ohvienna, and kiki_miserychic - turns out you're all impossibly COOLER than I already thought you were. And I got to meet findthesea for the first time (in rl or online) and I love her madly already.

I was told approximately 1 million times since my arrival that Club Vivid would be the most mind blowingly amazing thing I would ever experience. THE BAR WAS SET REALLY HIGH. And it definitely lived up to it. I mean...it's hard for anything to really disappoint when there's an open bar? But I'm pretty sure it would have been awesome regardless. I have never danced so much in my life. Or worn so many glow sticks at one time. Or seen so much glitter in one place. Also! One of my vids played during the show! How surreal. I was really nervous (luckily it wasn't a premiere. God I felt ill just thinking about it. Idk how you guys do it every year), but I have to say it was a really cool experience seeing my vid on a big screen in a room full of people who actually love watching vids.

I think one of my favorite parts of the whole weekend may have been the CVV rewatch party in bradcpu and milly's room. I probably only actually watched one vid, but the company and conversation was one of a kind. Kinda going back to what I mentioned before, it was SO much fun just being able to hang out and talk to people about vids/fandom/tv/etc! I honestly don't get to do that very much in my day to day life. It was such a treat. It really makes a girl feel at home.

The premieres show was super neat. I feel like the whole weekend was an exercise in getting to see a ton of killer vids that I probably wouldn't have watched/sought out under normal circumstances. I loved it!

SPEAKING OF! VID RECS!

Slippery Slope by jetpack_monkey [The Wicker Man, 1973] → This vid is so creepy and awesome and kind of disturbing? I've never seen the source material, but wow the song is so perfect! You're gonna get chills. Go watch it.

Run Boy Run by hollywoodgrrl [Game of Thrones] → OMFG!!! I feel like last year I said that her Heads Will Roll vid was the best GoT vid I've ever seen? Well now that's the second best GoT vid I've ever seen. CUZ LADIES AND PERFECT EDITING. And I dare you not to be sobbing with EMOSHUNS by the end of this.

Va Va Voom by jetpack_monkey [I Love Lucy] → It's an I Love Lucy vid with a Nicki Minaj song. I know. BUT IT'S PERFECT! It's such a feel good vid and captures the heart and the spirit of the show marvelously.

Dyin Day by killabeez [The Hunger Games] → Oh mannnnn this vid is so great. It's another one that captures the tone of the movie so well, and in a way that I feel like most other THG vids don't. It's incredibly moving.

Smells Like Westeros Spirit by hollywoodgrrl [Game of Thrones] → Ugh this girl I stg. There's so many great parallels in this vid! So many! Plus it's just a really fucking cool vid.

Who Needs Sleep? by kiki_miserychic [Elementary] → If anyone ever asks you what Elementary is about, just show them this vid. So clever and so much fun!

Identical Snowflakes by icepixie [Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers Films] → This is one of those vids that I probably would have never seen if not for VVC. I don't think it was a premiere but it's so lovely. I think I may have legit teared up kinda? BUT IN A GOOD WAY!

I'm No Superman by bananainpyjamas [Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes] → Another one of those! I never thought my heart could be so warmed by legos! I was smiling like an idiot through this whole thing.

Past the Feeling by anoel [Once Upon a Time] → I don't watch this show but wowww this vid is so gorgeous and flowing and wonderfully edited.

There are so many I'm forgetting!! But basically everything was awesome!

Let's talk about Game of Thrones and how I FINALLY started watching it and how it has consumed me.

Also, more of this please?

So the first episode was kind of...idk it didn't win me over. Neither did the second or third LOL. It really didn't actually hit me until like 1x08 BUT THEN THERE WAS NO ESCAPING MY FEELINGS. It wasn't that I disliked it, I just couldn't get over that hump from watching it passively while doing other things to being glued to my computer devouring it. BUT I MADE IT! And here we are. I'm like 3 episodes into season 2 and have already accidentally spoiled myself for something! And it's not so much the act of being spoiled but the spoiler itself that really bums me out. BUT YAY S2!

I LOVE Robb (even though I want him to get it on with everyone he's in a scene with, including and especially, his mother, which is pretty distracting) and Cersei. AND JOE DEMPSIE'S FACE! I GET IT TUMBLR! I FEEL YOU! And Arya/Genrdy? This show is an exercise in getting me to ship the most inappropriate things possible. As much as I enjoyed Dany in S1 (and I DID! GIRL IS BADASS), her dragon shtick is kinda getting old. IDK I JUST WANT HER TO MAKE OUT WITH HER RIGHT HAND MAN ALREADY. They can talk about fire and blood later!

Seriously though? Try and watch this promo without getting chills! (Trust me, I've tried. Can't do it)

PS. New Girl S1 is over and I am CRAZY SAD ABOUT IT.
PPS. Finally watched all the Marvel movies (well, except for the Hulk) and am all prepared to see Avengers tomorrow! AHHH!
