Short version -

When they started out with Morgan I knew I was going to love this one. And hey, I was right. Happy as I was to see him at the beginning, when he showed up later I was actually cursing with joy at my television. Holy shit, what a save.

Also loving zen!Morgan.

Huge moment of crazy for Sasha but it was kind of...beautiful? I don't know. Maybe I've been watching this show too long. (Ha ha no.) Like Melissa McBride said on Talking Dead, it was a very peaceful moment. Weird as that sounds, yeah. It was.

Three-in-one walker kill with a chain. Daryl you total badass. A fruit basket to whoever thought that one up.

Reasons I love Carol -

For someone they just introduced I've gotten extremely attached to Aaron. So, you know, don't die, dude.

Smh @ people who think it's not possible for Glenn to have gotten away from those walkers. This is the dude who killed a walker after being locked in a room with one while he was tied to a chair. Easy for folks to forget that when we met Glenn he was alone. In downtown Atlanta.

Maggie is a really good person, particularly in that moment where she didn't beat the shit out of Deanna for saying "What you've lost?".

That little prayer circle at the end with Sasha, Maggie and Gabriel was totally unexpected and extremely cool. Somebody still needs to yell at his stupid ass for leaving the gate open, though. Gee, good thing Rick was around to take care of that.

The end of the Agent Carter season finale.

The end end.

The way they tied into future things is fantastic. Even if you haven't read the comics and have only seen the Cap movies there's such a great OH SHIT moment at the end when Toby Jones - Dr. Arnim Zola - turns up in that cell.

Genius. All of it. If you missed the show I sincerely hope you find the time to watch it because it's unbelievably good and so important because a) it's the first female-led MCU production (#2 coming soon on Netflix with aka Jessica Jones) and b) Peggy Carter is an incredible character and the way she deals with the bullshit she gets handed is %&*#ing inspiring. I would like to send the writers a fruit basket and kiss them on the mouth.

Also, whoever choreographed the fight scenes is brilliant and deserves a raise.

Please let there be a season 2.

We went to PetCo Friday night to buy food and litter for the cats and because PetCo's idea of "impulse items" includes a set of cages they loan out to different shelters every week I saw this little black cat. And it yelled at me. And chased my fingers. And rubbed the glass when I put my hand on it. We weren't looking for another cat but for some reason I just really wanted that cat. I read the descriptions on the cages and wasn't sure if the one we liked was the male or the female (there was one of each in the same adjoining cages, both black) but I thought from the descriptions that we were looking at the male. We took a card from the shelter and left them a message.

The next day they called us back and told us the male cat had already been adopted. I was pretty bummed out. We went to a different pet shop where the shelter we got Dynamo and Galaxy from was having an event. Found a nice kitty, also black like the one I'd been looking at, but she was FIV-postive and since we've got three others we weren't too sure about her. We looked at some kittens and they were sweet and adorable but I still wanted to think about it. After we left the lady from the first shelter called and said she'd be at PetCo if we wanted to look at the other black cat. So we did. And we were wrong. The cat I wanted was the female and she was still there. Not gonna lie, I got a little misty. So did the lady from the shelter. She'd been fostering this kitten for about ten months. The poor thing had already been adopted out once and then abandoned (seriously who the hell does that?) and she was happy the little booger was going home with us.

Chivas USA is getting a "rebranding" (because really what kind of stupid idea was Chivas USA in the first place?) and more importantly, moving the hell out of the LA Galaxy's home, StubHub Center. Last night was the last SuperClasico between the two and LA destroyed them 3 - 0 (seriously if you watch nothing else from the highlight reel watch Robbie Keane's goal at about 4:05 - it is solid %&#$ing gold and he is a god among men). Such a good game. They're a wonder to watch when they're on.

I need to stop feeling obligated to keep people on as facebook friends because I knew them 20 years ago. So far this week one dude has responded to an article about nail polish that can detect date rape drugs with "There goes my love life" and another has proven himself to be an over-the-top "Not All Men!" guy. In case you don't know about Not All Men, they're the ones who respond to any article/conversation about sexual assault/rape culture with "Not all men are like that!". Followed by emphatic arguing about how men shouldn't be made to feel bad for things other men do. Because it's about their feelings and we should stop making them uncomfortable by discussing the subject. He actually equated judging all women as "cold" just because that's the kind of experience a guy has had with them. Hmm, yes, I see. Because women being less accommodating, warm and friendly than a man would like is just like rape.

Incoherent Movie Review of the Week: GotG

Second time this year Marvel's gotten me wound up beyond all possibility of meeting the hype and then done it anyway. I laughed, I cried, I laughed til I cried. I damn near shot Coke Zero out my nose because I had a mouthful when Chris Pratt said possibly the funniest line ever in the history of funny and lines.

Everything and everyone looks amazing.

Nova Corps, people. Aw yisssss. Their ships were incredible. All the ships were incredible.

Greatest bad guy confrontation ever. Guaranteed you've never seen anything quite like it.

There's only one after-credits scene for this one and it will probably leave a lot of people scratching their heads but I think it's hilarious (and completely unexpected). I guess there's kind of two but I think the first one is really before the credits even start. Just stay there. It's Marvel, you know the drill.

Sorry to see the back of it. Brazil did an amazing job hosting and I've got such respect for their fans after the beating their team took and the way they reacted. They were cheering for the Germans during the 7 - 1 loss and there were Germans singing to encourage their team it was mind-blowing and wonderful and all sorts of other related words.

And this was so damn cute I don't know what to do with myself.

A crapton of Americans watched the Cup this year. Some in ginormous hordes: U.S. Soccer moves second Grant Park World Cup watch party.

Soldier Field, Chicago.

There was a little weirdness (I'm looking at you, Suarez) and a decent helping of bullshit (hello, Robben) but largely the sportsmanship on display was fantastic. Members of the Brazilian team getting the crowd to applaud James Rodriguez after Columbia's loss to them was beautiful. Winners consoling the defeated happened a lot. And hugs between members of different national teams who happen to play for the same clubs. And sometimes just hugs in general. The parades for Columbia and Costa Rica gave me stupid amounts of joy. Costa Rica in general did. There are only about 4.8 million people in the entire country and their team was owning and it was awesome and they were really %*$&ing happy about it. They should be. They beat Italy and they nearly beat the Netherlands, who ended in third place.

Crazy shit happened. Spain took a complete dump. Italy did, too. Costa Rica topped a group made up entirely of previous Cup winners. 19-year-old Julian Green came off the bench for the US and scored in his first World Cup appearance. We didn't win but that was pretty freaking cool. The US scored one of the fastest goals in World Cup history. Miroslav Klose became the top goal-scorer in World Cup history (and apparently passed his superpowers on to Mario Götze before leaving the pitch).

I cheered for Mexico, which I never would have imagined happening. (But hey, CONCABROS before the rest of those.) Their keeper, Memo Ochoa, was a %#$&ing wall. He wasn't the only one - see: Things Tim Howard Could Save. Keylor Navas of Costa Rica, also a beast. Manuel Neuer is, well, Manuel Neuer. His dorky bounce through the handshake line while accepting the Golden Glove was a thing of beauty.

This game can make you crazy and break your heart but it's a great kind of crazy and the good thing is that there's always next time. Another good thing is that you don't have to wait another 4 years because there's football ALL THE TIME. There's MLS right now and Premier League (England) and Bundesliga (Germany) and a whole bunch of others starting next month and international friendlies and Women's World Cup qualifiers (our team is %*$&ing awesome seriously check them out).

Also regarding Omar Gonzalez, he's in this year's Sports Illustrated Body issue. (NSFW) The Body issue features athletes from a bunch of different sports. Naked. No bits or pieces showing, though. They're beautiful photos, as usual. Got some all new love for Omar right now. Zowie.

Can't even make good words right now. Very bummed that Costa Rica didn't win but proud that they held Holland to a standstill. Holland should have gotten a red and the Ticos should have gotten one or two PKs and I wouldn't have been surprised to see the ref reach for a yellow card and pull out a wad of cash. Very much not enjoying the way officiating and drama (looking at you, Robben) have overshadowed the games. I literally spend games involving Holland waiting for Robben to dive or overact and get a call in his favor. Kind of ruins the fun. Whoever's officiating Argentina v Netherlands had better not take any of his crap.

I do enjoy watching van Persie completely pooch it, though, so that was fun.

Also sucks to see Belgium go but they should be proud. It's been fun watching them play and LOLing at Fellaini and his Fabulous Fro. (Which I'll still get to do when Premier League starts up next month so YAY.)

Hoping for a Germany v Argentina final. Because I don't like the way Brazil plays and because screw Holland.
