Gerp is a demo party held in Skövde/Sweden that focuses on the oldschool platforms and historically has been a stronghold for the Amiga demoscene. However if you have interest in the demoscene you are welcome to attend no matter if your target machine is the Amiga, Atari, C64, PC or something else.
We also do our best to stream the event online so even if you can't attend in person you can enjoy the event to a certain degree from home.
If you're planning on submitting a compo entry for Gerp 2026, you can now upload your contribution via the website. Login and navigate to Account -> My Entries. From here you're able to upload your compo contribution directly to the Gerp Crew.
You can delete and re-upload your entry up until the compo deadline. Only at the deadline, your entry will be "locked" and processed by the Gerp Crew.
You can at most upload 20 MB, if you need to upload more, contact an organizer on discord or via email and we'll increase your upload quota.
You can ofcourse also hand in your compo entries on-site at the party if you so choose.
One very appreciated event on recent Gerp parties has been the demo quiz hosted by the guys from Tulou. Therefore we are very pleased to have them onboard for a quiz also at Gerp 2026. So make sure to have the battery in your mobile phone charged on friday night to be able to participate in the quiz and show off your demo scene knowledge.
Preliminary start time for the event is 22:00.
We are delighted with the great interest in visiting Gerp 2026! To make it possible for more people to visit the party, we have measured and calculated to be able to expand the table space a bit, especially in the "extra room".
Thanks to this, we can now offer around 20 more computer seats compared to previous years. But remember when you visit the party to not spread out more than necessary on the tables so that everyone who wants to can have space to sit down with their computer.
With that said, we have also increased the maximum number of visitors to 160 and at the time of writing there are multiple free spots to sign up for!
h0ffman, teo, and wasp are about to host a highly educational session on how to prepare samples for your favourite Amiga Tracker — because apparently “just rip it from some MOD you found on Aminet” is no longer considered best practice.
Expect:
- questionable wisdom
- strong opinions about 8-bit headroom
- at least one heated debate about whether that loop really clicks or if you’re just imagining it
Bring your Amiga spirit, your worst samples, and your best excuses.
This is the seminar your future modules will thank you for.
Preliminary at 21:00 Friday evening.
As we have basically had the same competitions and compo rules for many years now, we thought it might be a good idea to inform specifically about the changes for 2026 so you don’t miss anything of importance.
The changes/additions are as follows:
Check out the Compos section for more information.
All tickets are booked, but as last time we have the Queue. When signups are full, you'll be added to the queue and we'll contact you via your email when a spot opens up. You will have to take action when the mail arrives; Info about what to do is in the mail.
We have a special announcement from Blueberry to all Amiga creators!
You are hereby invited to participate in the No-CPU challenge that was just announced at Evoke 2025. There will be a dedicated compo for this challenge at Gerp 2026 so get to it!
Visit https://no-cpu.dev/ for more information and info on how to participate! The invitation that was released on Evoke can be found at pouet.
We are in process of updating our home page. While doing this we got us a new URL! WYSIWYG, yes, this is the new page! Make sure to change the Gerp bookmark to Gerp.nu.
Disclaimer! If there is something wrong on the page please reach out on Discord and we'll queue up a fix for it! It's a new party system so might have some kinks.
We have revamped the whole page. Most notable change that will affect you directly is that you now have to register on the site before you can sign up. Create an account with email, SceneId, or GitHub as authentication methods. When done you should be at the My Gerp-page and can sign up to active parties, if any is active.
When there is an active party you can find it on the front page and in the My Gerp menu.
Make sure to verify email address and fill in your handle, and optionally a group.
