Geoconcept is envisioned as an international multi-disciplinary natural science journal aiming to publish novel, high-impact original research approaching topics which pertain to environmental science, physical and human geography, geology, ecology, spatial planning and other fields focusing on the study of the geosphere, biosphere and anthroposphere and their connections.

As such, we invite contributions from natural sciences and related fields which demonstrate a high degree of originality and broad impact, both scientific and societal, and rely on interdisciplinary approaches.

All articles published by Geoconcept Journal are open access, therefore are freely available to the general public with permitted reuse.

Subject areas may include, but are not limited to:

  • Air quality, atmospheric processes, and effects on natural and man-made environments,
  • Climate and environmental changes of the past, present and future,
  • Contamination of water and soil resources, and methods of remediation/restoration,
  • Current vs. sustainable management of natural protected areas,
  • Dynamic of forest ecosystems and sustainable forest management,
  • Environmental impacts of climate change, agriculture, forestry and land uses,
  • Environmental impacts of waste or wastewater treatment,
  • Geomorphological processes, dynamics, and relation to climate changes,
  • GIS, remote sensing and data applications in natural science/environmental research,
  • Global change-induced extreme events and environmental impacts,
  • Hydrological processes and related risks and hazards: mitigation and/or restoration,
  • Monitoring of nanomaterials, microplastics, and other emerging contaminants in natural and man-made environments,
  • Natural end anthropogenic hazards: risk assessment, effects and mitigation,
  • Spatial planning in the context of climate change and sustainable resource management,
  • Tourism, services and other economic activities: environmental impacts and sustainability in the context of climate changes,
  • Water quality and security,
  • Other topics of significant scientific and societal interest pertaining to environmental research.
  • Local or regional scale case studies are accepted for submission if they demonstrate scientific environmental relevance.
  • Method development papers are accepted if they are shown to provide new scientific insights into the systems from which the data were collected and are replicable in other systems/areas.

Please check the guidelines (Guidelines for authors) to determine whether your manuscript is within the scope of the Geoconcept journal.

If the manuscript complies with the journal requirements, please submit in the Manuscript submission section.

Vol. 6 (2025): Environmental protection and conservation in the context of current climate changes and geopolitical challenges

University of Suceava in collaboration with the Applied Geography Association Geoconcept with the support of the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research, organized an international conference dedicated dedicated to environmental changes and conservation (EUnviRO2025), which took place between 9-12 October 2025 at the Training and Continued Education Center in Vatra Dornei/ Centrul de Pregatire si Formare Continua Vatra Dornei (University of Suceava, Suceava county, Romania). We welcomed diverse scientific contributions focusing on environmental protection and conservation, past and present climate and environmental changes and their effects on abiotic and biotic landscapes/biodiversity, and environmental management in the context of increasing geopolitical challenges.
