# Genus Capital Management

> Genus Capital Management is an independent, Canadian investment management firm founded in 1989, with offices in Vancouver and Toronto. The firm specializes in values-based investing, including Responsible Investing, Fossil Free Investing, and Impact Investing. Genus serves individuals, families, institutional investors, and financial advisors across Canada. It is a certified B Corporation and a signatory of the UN Principles for Responsible Investing (PRI).

Genus Capital Management was one of the first investment firms in Canada to incorporate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors into its investment process, doing so approximately 25 years ago. The firm operates as an employee-owned business, independent of major banks, and bases its fees on assets under management. Client assets are held in trust with independent custodians such as RBC Investor & Treasury Services.
