I've used several mini wireless keyboards over the years, and pretty much all of them have been the rounded, almost shaped like a video game controller, types. I decided to try this form factor because of the placement of the mouse pad, hoping that it would make using it much easier. I wasn't wrong. Pros: + Mouse pad and buttons are placed so you can easily use them with your right thumb. + There is a function key that allows you to invert the mouse pad, so if you are using it strictly for that reason you can hold it in a more comfortable position. Great for giving a presentation. + The USB dongle is stored in a compartment on the device, which is pretty standard. However, it has it's own protective sleeve that you can use to plug the compartment while the dongle is in use so no dirt or moisture get into it. There is a satisfying snap when you put it back into the compartment, so there are no worries about it falling out. Little considerations like this make me happy. + I have small hands and was worried about how comfortably I'd be able to type on this with the mouse pad on the right hand side. While it's not quite as easy is the round form keyboards, it's not really all that much harder. Considering it's just used to access devices out in the field that don't have dedicated keyboards and not for novel writing, my hands will survive. + The USB charging cable can also be used as a roughly 3' USB extension cable. Multi-function cables save room in my bag, and that is never a bad thing. Cons: - The keyboard does go to sleep very quickly, so if you are using the mouse pad you are very likely to wonder why your mouse isn't working if you stop to talk or read something. Just pressing one of the buttons fixes it, but I'd be happier if it wasn't quite so quick. Observation: - I'm a little concerned that it might not survive a drop onto hard concrete without the plastic cracking, but this device likely wasn't made with the thought of being used in an industrial or field maintenance capacity, so I'm OK with that. I haven't used it enough to really say much about battery life yet, but since I use it in brief spurts throughout a week that's not a big concern for me. If I find a noticeable problem with it over time then I will update my review. Otherwise, definitely recommend this if you are working out in the field or need a keyboard in your bag for when those devices without a keyboard randomly start acting up and you don't want to go all the way back to your office for a keyboard!
