    This is a YA Fantasy book. YA for those who aren't familiar means young adult. Aimed at the age range of around 11-17. D.W. writes great horror novels, so I wanted to try something different by him. This story was brilliant. I do enjoy an occasional Fantasy book, especially one with dragons. On to my review.
    Jordan is a fan of Fantasy and one day part of his school as well as his town along with several classmates are transported to another world which is a lot like his. There are no other humans, at least that they know of at first. There are dragons and birds that look like part dragon as well as strange mammals, and brownies (a tiny race of elf like humanoid, not the snacks). Jordan and his friends are on a quest to find out how to get back home. Along the way he befriends a young dragon, and 3 brownies who are ordered by their king to assist them. Soon the group find out how they were brought there. An evil group of human cultists with glowing swords are the culprits. To make matters worse, the only way home involves a magic crystal that is attached on the chest of a dragon king whose lair is in a volcano. Bonds are formed with his new friends and they must face dangerous enemies if they want to return home. Will they succeed?
    I rarely read YA books, but the cover caught my attention, and I enjoy this authors writing. I was not disappointed. If you have teenage readers at home who enjoy Fantasy stories, this one is a great pick. Also, if you like an occasional YA book, then I recommend giving this one a read. Great characters, not much violence, so it's good for younger readers, fun plot and an overall good story with plenty of heart.
