    Karl lives alone with his dog Brady. An incident changes that and Karl must put his beloved pal down. As he struggles with his loss, he comes across a strange disc hidden in his home, and from there odd things begin to happen.

    What an emotional opening! Hitz did an excellent job portraying the sadness Karl felt after losing Brady. It immediately tugged at my heartstrings. Karl doesn’t have long to grieve, and he’s tossed into chaos that has monstrous appendages and a swirling fog that has a thirst for blood. Something terrible has been released meanwhile, Karl is having blackouts with horrible outcomes that could change his life forever.

    This was my first time reading this author and it was great! The story was remarkably interesting and hit on several emotions. I couldn’t wait to find out how everything pulled together. Karl was a character that I really enjoyed and felt connected to. His emotions and his drive really stood out to me throughout the whole book. I look forward to reading more from this author.

    Great plot and excellent characters. I would have liked to see an HEA ending because I loved the main character Karl, but not every story can end happily.
    A great read if you like ghostly animals and a feel of cosmic horror.

    Brady by D.W. Hitz did an excellent job of satisfying my cosmic horror needs. Hitz wasted no time with a punch in the feels right in page 1. Yes, the dog dies. It's mentioned in the synopsis and is a big part of the plot. When Brady's owner Karl buries his beloved pet, he unintentionally unleashes an unspeakable, tentacled horror (spoiler alert, it's not Cthulhu). Now Karl has to find a way to put the creature back to rest before it wrecks havok on the world. He may or may not get help from his beloved pet, I'm not saying. There is pure action with no filler in this cosmic horror novella. This story goes full throttle right from the start. I couldn't help but to race through the story in less than 2 hours. Anyone who loves animal stories and cosmic horror will really enjoy this one.

    Brady is a great cosmic-horror tale. Karl is forced to put Brady down, and in the same day he unleashed a cosmic beast. During his attempt to return the beast to it's domain, Karl finds out that death isn't always the end.

    Highly recommend. Hitz is a great writer and this is just a small sample of his genius.

    A hell of an adventure for Karl, that's for sure. He's in for way more than he ever imagined when he finds himself hounded by a demonic tentacled blob with anger issues. And when the cops come to the conclusion that Karl is the one to blame for a crap-load of mayhem, well, he's basically screwed.

    But that's ok. We're not Karl. We don't have to deal with his deranged existence. We get to sit back and read about it and enjoy the experience. Lucky us!

    Ah, but poor Karl. He's not going to be having much fun at all.
