    I grabbed this book because I was coming off a history reading binge and wanted a new LitRPG to just sit back and enjoy. The first bit of the book seemed to take forever to get through, but once we made it in game things started flowing smoothly and I was drawn in. A new character type (for me at least) and quite an interesting one as well. Refreshingly the MC was NOT given god like powers and able to smite the enemy by the battalion like a certain read I had finished earlier this month... but I digress. Well written with no immersion breaking keyboard flubs.

    I cannot praise the author highly enough for what turned out to be a very entertaining book and a main character that I actually came to care about and want to follow in future adventures. Cleverly written, the story is huge and game changing for all involved yet at the end a way forward opens which will allow the MC to continue without immediately jumping to god like proportions. It is refreshing to read about just a regular character working his way up the level tree. I eagerly await a series of books..

    All too often in these sorts of stories the main character ignores the crafting/profession elements of the game they are in as a distraction for their questing/levelling or the author does as a distraction from the plot, but this went the other way. The main character chose a class that is mostly ignored by others as worthless or no fun and found a way to make it work. It was fun to read how he crafted his way out of or around problems and made for a refreshing change.

    There were all the elements you expect in a LitRPG story, with stats, character sheets and quests but without going over the top. The writing style was relaxed and reading it flowed easily, drawing me into the story until I frequently realised I had been reading far longer than I had intended!

    Here's hoping for a sequel about the further exploits of Zoran...

    This story hit all the tropes that I like about lit RPG but with a twist. Usually it's the fighters, rogues or the wizards that are the mc's class. In this one it's a support class and it turns out to be a very powerful build if a bit squishy. Facing high level oponents the mc must use wits and his ability to improvise weapons and artifacts to survive. Starting as a bit of a loser the mc grows in maturity throughout the tale. Some really cleverly thought out combat sequences. Well worth the time and I hope we get the sequel soon.

    At first the main character is a winy kid but he really grows through the hardship he faces when unable to log out from the VR game. I liked his interraction with Ellie and the imperial torturor. I really like the progress his psychic undergoes as he changes his mindset from a winy emo victim to understanding his bad disposition, recognising his bad decision and taking action to correct them or take charge of his action toward what needs and should be done even when the risk for himself is huge. Great story and character building. I had a good time reading it!
