    I didn't know what to think when i started reading this book, but i'm glad i followed it through. Lisa had been spoiled with gifts by Mark at first, but he became manipulative and very controlling. To a point Lisa had no confidence in herself, until she met Grayson. He knew something was not right with Mark and Lisa relationship, he helped her with her confidence enough for her to leave Mark. I am now about to read the 2nd book as am interested as to what happens next

    I stumbled across this book by accident - it was mentioned in a Twitter conversation. The author's name caught my eye as it is Irish - but I assumed he/she (I wasn't sure at the time) was American as 'Cleary' is more commonly an Irish surname. I decided to look it up - the synopsis of the plot sounded interesting, so I bought it for my Kindle. Anyway, it turns out that Cleary is a 'she' - this is her first book - and it's very good. She's not American - and the book is set in London. Yes, it is sexually explicit - so don't buy it as a gift for the 12 year old or your Granny...though maybe you have a very enlightened Granny?! However, it is also a very good, if unusual, love story - and the ending has left me wanting more. Happily the author's notes confirm that a sequel is due in 2016 so hopefully I won't have to wait too long. In essence it is a story about a woman - Lisa - who has allowed her own personality, talent, indeed her entire life be subsumed into the needs and desires of her 'boyfriend', Mark. I use the word boyfriend advisedly as he is neither a boy nor a friend to her. She then meets another man - a warm, kind and loving man but their initial meeting is in weird and rather horrible circumstances. In Grayson she finds a potential soul mate, but right now she can only see him as a potential means of escape. Their relationship is built on mutual physical attraction - but underlying this is a belief that there could be more, if circumstances would only allow. It will be interesting to see if Ms James is able to build on that 'maybe' in the next book. I will be looking forward to finding out.

    I loved it but also hated it because I hate abusive men and I also don't like people how do things like share women or men but the part that was good was she found a way to leave not a good way to get money but a good way to escape.

    If you want a story that completes, don't buy this. I found it quite disturbing and will not purchase the next in the series.

    The storyline tells a very situation that plays out in many households all over the world. Lisa excels in righting wrong.
