    An excellent serie. More pun, more fun, more silliness, generally more of what we liked. But....

    The final plot overshadow the dungeon core story and the ending feel to me like an axing.

    Still will recommend the whole série.

    Well that was a fun romp. A neat premise and interesting take on the dungeon core sub-genre. Imaginative randomness kept things from getting boring. Boss monsters like T-rex and puppet master granny were well done. Bullied highschool nerd becomes hero was a bit trope but worked ok. A fair bit of suspension of reality needed for some of the coincidental encounters with the right groups and individuals to advance the storyline. Dungeon war battles were epic and sweeping.

    Why only four stars? Because the end as a whisper not a roar. To avoid spoilers, I’ll just say that several story lines closed abruptly and forced, while others developed and foreshadowed throughout never materialized. Not regretting I read the series, but feeling it could have been a great, but ended up being good enough.

    A great conclusion to an epic pentalogy. Well worth a read if you enjoyed any of the earlier books in the series. I continue to hold hope for more books in the Dicken Around side stories from Axel's perspective.

    I know that all good things must end but it was worth it to finish the series. Wonderful world crafting, great characters, and a great storyline.

    Somewhere along the line, the dungeon core book became a conspiracy theory book. And all about overthrowing an evil government. Dco being just a tiny part of this book, to the point of no one even fighting the floor 6 boss, and one 1 person fighting the floor 7 one basically barely touching either floor, despite spending the time explaining all about them and setting them up. The series as a whole feels like a bait and switch, to the point I wouldn't consider it primarily a dungeon core series. Don't get me wrong, it's decent but that just wasn't what I'd signed up for, thus the 4* . Worth a read? If it's what you're after, yes. Just isn't communicated well what the series actually is.
