      Great things come in small packages.

      Brian's book, while compact and a relatively easy read, contains constant and useful wisdom that while applicable to you if you are thinking of starting your own business - you will also find that his way of thinking can apply to so many more scenarios. As demonstrated, this doesn't really need to be complicated, just take it from someone who knows how to succeed and make failure his friend.

      As a person who also works well with comparisons, comparing a new business to a race car really worked well for me - so If you appreciate that sort of comparison I think you may also do very well to check this book out!

      Highlights:

      Simple and easy to understand

      Lots of great examples of learning from failure

      A fast read, not much of a time investment for value

      If you are looking for more in depth analysis perhaps this would not be the best fit but if you are just starting in your journey I don't know if you need to look elsewhere as I would call this a "welcoming book"

      This is a brilliant book giving you two clear routes to building your own business: franchise or fresh start. I particularly liked the story on ‘availability bias’ on the marshmallow!! Highly recommended!!

      BYOB is an excellent follow-up to WTF?!, his first book. He describes the franchise model in a new light as well as shares actionable advice and tips on how to build and scale your own business. Definitely a quick and essential read for anyone interested in becoming their own boss!

      You know how too many business books contain a pamphlet worth of ideas “padded out” to 300 or 400 pages? This book is the opposite of that.

      You can read it on a short flight and it contains enough Big Ideas and insights for five (legit) business books.

      Get it. You’ll enjoy the read and I guarantee you’ll walk away with some life and business changing ideas.

      If you find yourself lacking either of these ingredients, it could be a recipe for disaster.

      If you've read through and done the couple of quick exercises, you can ensure you've both the right ingredients, and a solid recipe.
