Yuletide Letter!

Dearest Yuletide Author,

Hi! First of all, I'm so sorry for how ridiculously long this letter is. Second of all, thanks so much for signing up and offering to write for these awesome sources. I've only participated in Yuletide once before a few years ago, but I had a GREAT experience, so I hope that maybe it can happen again! But seriously, don't stress about that, because I'm sure I'll enjoy whatever you write for me! First of all, please don't feel like you have to adhere strictly to every word of my prompts. If you've already got a brilliant idea you want to explore or if you come up with something from one of my notes that doesn't match whatever else I've said, that's totally fine! As long as you work with what inspires you and genuinely enjoy it, I'm sure I'll love whatever you choose to write.

I Like:
- Awesome ladies! In particular, I love ladies who go after what they want, who have interests and goals and dreams, who make genuine mistakes but have the strength and courage to work through them. Lady-centric fic is definitely what I'm after in this exchange; even when dealing with romance, I prefer the POV character (if any) to be the woman.
- One of my favorite plot devices/tropes in fiction ever (like, seriously, it's the fastest way to get me interested in anything, movie, book, webcomic, you name it) is ladies rescuing the ~~dorks~~ dudes they care about, whether that be through beating the bad guys up and carrying them bridal-style out of a burning building, kicking some common sense into them when they've given up, or anything in between. I love role reversals a ridiculously deep amount, what can i say. You'll definitely see this theme continue in my prompts!
- If it wasn't made clear by the last two points, I love romance, haha. Oh man, I just really enjoy all stages of a relationship, from crushes and UST to kissing to dates to weddings to domesticity and everything that comes in between. Basically, if you write me a fic with kissing in it, I will love you forever and always. Even if romance isn't your thing and you'd prefer to write me a gen fic (which is totally fine! Gen is awesome!), just a sentence or two of implications would thrill me.
- I also enjoy: meaningful, multifaceted friendships between ladies! Quiet moments! Post-canon scenarios! Fluff! Did I mention kissing?

I Don't Like:
- Even though I'm big on romance/relationships, I'm really not a fan of actual porn. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about strong implications, fade-to-black scenarios, all that fun stuff, but actually getting into the nitty-gritty of it? I'd really appreciate it if you could avoid it. (Related: No non-con/rape, please.)
- Character-bashing! In particular, hatin' on the ladies. NO THANK YOU.
- Excessive tragedy/angst. While I understand some dark moments being necessary, I'd really prefer it if my story could at least end happily, if nothing else? This isn't a deal-breaker or anything for me, but it is the holidays and I'd prefer to be happy rather than sad.
- No crossovers, please! Just really not my thing.

Now for specific prompts!

Fandom: Adventure Time
Character(s): Fionna

Details: The genderswapped episode was what actually got me into Adventure Time in the first place! I thought it was wonderful and hilarious, and oh man, Fionna is my forever girl. I'd love to see any kind of fic about her, whether she's doing battle with the Ice Queen or simply hanging out with Cake and trying to figure out what's for dinner.

In addition (and please remember that optional details are optional! No need to include this if you really don't want to! After all, these other characters I'm about to mention weren't nominated), I think I'm one of only six people in the entire world who really fervently ships Fionna/Gumball. I just think they're adorable! I loved her terribly awkward crush on him and how she held him bridal-style and how infatuated he seemed with her after she saved him from the Ice Queen (delicate, timid boys who love brave, strong girls are my jam, what can I say.) If you feel so inclined, I'd love fic with a slant towards that pairing. Maybe she saves him from certain disaster yet again? Maybe he tries to ask her out a second time and hilarity ensues?

I also like the idea of Fionna/Flame Prince, so if you prefer that pairing, feel free to go that way! Since we only have theories about how it would work right now (until the comics, eeeeeeeee!), pretty much anything you want to do would be super adorable, I'm sure. The only Fionna pairing I'm really not interested in is her and Marshall Lee, which is sadly the most popular one, haha. Try to avoid that one if you can! But again, if none of these interest you or if you'd just like to write gen fic, I'd love that just as much, trust me!

Fandom: Elementary
Characters: Joan Watson, Sherlock Holmes

Details: Oh man, these two. Only three (four after tonight!) episodes in, and I already completely adore them beyond all reason. I'd honestly love basically anything that mimics the feel of the show: harmless, snappy bantering, sneaky crimes needing to be solved, etc. Even though I think this is about to happen in the show, I'd still love to read about a situation where he gets himself into trouble and she has to come to his rescue (and is appropriately smug about it, haha). If you'd rather go a more lady-centric route (always good), I'd definitely enjoy something about Joan that delves more into her past before she met Sherlock (her parents, her experiences in medical school and as a practicing surgeon, the fallout after her patient died, etc).

Uh, just putting this out there also: while I absolutely love their friendship, I also would be totally fine if they made out at some point in the fic? NO PRESSURE, of course. Ugh, only three episodes in and I already want them to kiss. I'm sorry, I'm a shipping monster. :(

Fandom: Gravity Falls
Characters: Wendy Corduroy

Details: I love Wendy so much, man. My one major qualm with Gravity Falls, as delightful and wonderful and hilarious as it is, is that I really dislike how Wendy is mostly defined only by Dipper's crush on her. I want so much more for her! I want to know about her family and how she feels about them (where is her mom?). I want to know about her hopes and dreams for the future, what she likes and doesn't like about being at Gravity Falls, where she wants to go later in her life. I want to see her being best friends with Mabel, giving her advice and support. I want to see her and Dipper becoming better friends, actually talking and sharing similar interests. I want her to be more involved in their wild, paranormal adventures! I'd basically be happy with any of this, as long as Wendy is the focus and we get to see what's going on in her head.

FYI: I'm not terribly fond of Wendy/Robbie (he's a human disaster, all right, but not one I really like much), so while interactions between them are cool, I'm not really keen on overly romantic scenes between them. To be honest, the pairing I'm probably most interested in is Future!Wendy/Dipper. (I know, I know, I said I didn't like all the focus on them, but I DO love the idea of them a few years later, when Dipper is taller and more mature and Wendy is maybe going to college and she starts to have an embarrassing crush on him and he still completely adores her and it's all a big mess????). Haha, just some ideas, but I do really like the idea of future!fic, if you're into it. I'd love to see what teenager!Mabel is like. But, like I requested, Wendy is the only character I definitely want, so if you'd just like to do an introspective piece about her without any other characters, that would be totally fine.

Fandom: Namesake
Characters: Emma Crewe, Warrick Chopper

Details: This my longshot prompt, since I don't think anyone will actually offer to write this, but hey, I'm putting it out there just in case! Namesake is an online webcomic that has been around for a couple of years now. It's a really delightful story so far about awesome ladies (SO MANY awesome ladies!) and narratives and the roles characters play in stories and challenging one's destiny and it's just really excellent, I have to say. While the story's nowhere close to being finished, I'd love to see some fun, simple fic about the characters that either takes place in the future (maybe inside another story besides Wizard of Oz?) or that simply shows a missing scene that took place during the comic's canonn.

And, uh, I really ship Emma/Warrick, so I'd adore some interaction between them, whether it's platonic or romantic. It still feels a little early in the comic for them to be getting together (even though I feel pretty confident that that's where it's going eventually), but if you wanted to write me future!fic, I certainly wouldn't object. I don't know, I just want them to kiss so much. It's a disease. :(

Things I Love!

+ Just throwing this out there, even though it might not be applicable to all fandoms: one of my FAVORITE things ever in works of fiction (seriously, f-favorite trope of all time, maybe!?) is ladies rescuing the ~~dorks~~ guys they love. I am all about role reversals, believe me.
+ If it hasn't already been made painfully clear by that last part: ~*~ROMANCE~*~! Haha, what can I say. I am all about crushes, blossoming feelings, UST, first kisses, second/third/fourth/ALL kisses, dates, weddings, domesticity, babies, ETC. Basically, give me a fic with kissing in it and I will love you forever and ever. Even if romance isn't your thing and you'd rather write gen fic, just a sentence or two of implications would thrill me.

But yeah, actually getting into the nitty-gritty of it? I'd really appreciate it if you could avoid it. (Related: no non-con/rape, please. :/ :/ :/)

And now, for my specific requests!

Fandom: Gokusen (manga)
Characters: Kumiko Yamaguchi, Shin Sadawa

Details: I have to say, one of my favorite aspects of these two's relationship is that Shin so often plays the damsel in distress to Yankumi's badass hero. I'd love to see this element played with a little further down the road in their courtship. Just think! If Shin's getting kidnapped/beat to a pulp/tied-up/held hostage/etc so much when he's just a nosy student in her homeroom class, just think of all the trouble he'll be getting into when he's in a actualfax relationship with the heir to the Kuroda clan! (Or it could be interesting to bring back the girl from the 2009 special chapters? Seriously, did you see that seething look she gave Yankumi when she told her off? Girlfriend's not finished just yet, I'm willing to bet.) Alternatively, I would just love to see how the two, particularly Yankumi, adjust to being in a romantic relationship. How do their dates usually go? Is it hard for her to juggle teaching and her gangster family and beating up the thug of the week and her boyfriend? Is it still kind of awkward at times, considering he's her former student and all? D-Do they ever make out in her empty classroom? ALL QUESTIONS I AM INTERESTED IN ANSWERS TO. If you can find a way to combine both the damsel in distress element/the adjusting element into one story, EVEN BETTER!? But not necessary, of course. I would also not object to Ucchi/Kuma/Noda/Minami hanging out in the background and planning the wedding of the century/thinking up potential names for the pair's future offspring? Or whatever you want them to do, haha.

Fandom: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
Characters: Makoto Konno, Chiaki Mamiya

Details: Oh man, I'd love basically anything with these two. MOST OF ALL: post-movie fic where they meet again? As someone who firmly believes that they eventually find a way to each other one day, I'm super-intrigued by all the different ways it could happen, whether through Makoto somehow being able to time-leap again (finding another charger through mysterious circumstances? Meeting another time-traveler?) or Chiaki finding a way to return to the past. You don't even need to explain how it happens, if you'd rather just get them in the same place without having to go into a big explanation about the mechanics of it all. I'M NOT PICKY. If you'd rather not go that route, maybe a missing scene from the movie? Anything that further explores their feelings for each other, whether before/during/after the movie, whether they're in the same time period or not, would be awesome. ALTERNATIVELY, if you'd rather go a more gen-fic route: I'd love to know more about Chiaki, period. We know so little about him, what he's been through, what his life was like before he came to the past. What is the future like for him, exactly? Does he have any family/friends there? What is the significance of the painting? What kind of process do you have to go through to be able to get the charger in the first place? Are there a lot of other people leaping through time that he knows of or is it a really selective thing? I COULD GO ON, BUT I WON'T. Additionally, I just want to say that I love every single character in this movie, so the more cameos by other characters, the better. I love Kousuke and his relationship with both Makoto and Chiaki. I love Kousuke and Kaho together. I love Kaho and her ridiculous friends. I love Yuri. I love Miyuki. I love Kazuko. Basically, I love everyone! Don't feel obligated to include any of them, but it would totally be a nice bonus to get a glimpse of other characters.

(But let's just be honest here for a second, shall we? If you wrote me a fic that had Makoto and Chiaki kissing in it, you could write about whatever the hell else you wanted, pretty much. I WOULD STILL LOVE IT.)

Fandom: Princess Tutu
Characters: Rue, Mytho

(Just a little disclaimer here: while I adore Princess Tutu A LOT and am still hoping for a particular fic for it (why else would I be requesting it?), I would just like to point out that there is already more than a handful of great fic for this show. If you happen to get assigned to me and are offering to write more than one of these fandoms, I would request that you maybe try to pick one of the two above, since there is little to no good fic for them. That is not to say that I will not wildly love any PT fic you write me! I'm just giving you my preference if you're trying to choose between two of these.)

While there's already been some great fic written for Princess Tutu, I have to admit, I'm still forever searching for a well-thought-out post-series fic for Rue and Mytho! There's seriously just so many directions you could take the obstacles and circumstances that await them back inside the story. To start you off, if you're in need of a jumping-off point: Can they fit so easily into storybook-roles, what with all they've been through? What if the court officials/townspeople/others don't approve of Rue as the princess? What if one of them is overcome by the Raven's blood again? What if there's some kind of rebellion/coup/attack from a neighboring kingdom? What if they simply can't return to the story and have to go back to the real world and carve out a life there? These are just some questions that I've considered, but if you've already got an idea, by all means, go for it! All I ask is is that you try to end it happily? Please don't break my heart. ;____; ALTERNATIVELY, if you'd rather go the more gen-fic route: anything about Rue! Seriously, anything about her growth, her struggles, her evolving friendship with Ahiru, etc. I love her so much, I hardly know what to do myself most of the time. Ahiru and Fakir making cameos would be awesome, but definitely not necessary.

My entry for Challenge #18: Fifty over at picspammy!

(NOTE: LIke I've already said, this is my entry for Challenge #18: Fifty over at picspammy. I've noticed lately that I have around 55-60 solo female artists represented in my music library, and it seemed like a neat idea, considering that most people tend to stick to actors/actresses when it comes to picspams and the like. JUST TO CLARIFY: this is a picspam featuring women who have released at least one solo album, so there are no bands fronted by women or women duos or anything like that featured here. :( Also, the link that is included in "Favorite Song" does not lead to a download link (I didn't feel comfortable uploading music on an open post) but instead is simply a place where you can listen to the song, such as a music video or a cheesy youtube video with lyrics on it.

Also, hopefully there won't be any issues with this, but haha, please don't make fun of my taste in music. There are going to be some obscure names on this list, as well as some blasts from the past. I enjoy a lot of music from the 90s, you'll see. XD;; It's cool if you don't like a certain artist or don't agree with my favorite song and prefer another one. I'd love hearing your thoughts!
