Looking for music player with specific attributes

If this doesn't qualify as the sort of post allowed, I apologize in advance.

(x-posted to software)

I am looking for a music player (for Windows) that has certain features, but everything I can find lacks one or more features.

They are:
- ability to tag songs with more than one genre
- ability to filter songs based on combinations of genres (allowing for both AND and/or OR operations, not merely OR only or suchlike)
- a playlist component separate from the library component (no queueing up a few files within the library for playback without being able to see a visible playlist of what's queued--in other words, trying to play anything from the library should automatically send it to a visible playlist separate from the library)
- ability to "update" where a file is (for instance, if I rename a whole folder, the program will lose track of the songs, and rather than remove them and re-add them, I want to be able to "re-find" the song through a file dialog and redirect the program to its new location--this would then preserve all tagging, the number of times played, etc. so I don't have to do all sorts of editing when adding the song again)
- ability to play a wide variety of file types, not just mp3 (wav, FLAC, ogg, wma, m4a, ape, etc.)

The only program I've found to be able to tag songs with multiple genres is dBpowerAMP, and it only allows OR when filtering (at times I need AND so songs have to fit both genres before being allowed). It does allow all sorts of files to be played if you install the needed codecs for it. It has an atrocious playlist system, however, though you can at least see queued songs separately somewhat. And it freaks out when a song is moved and I have to remove the song and re-add it, which is a big pain. Hence although I've used it extensively in the past, I've gotten so fed up with it that I haven't used anything but Windows Media Player 6.4 to play files for a long while (I set it as my default mp3 player, and it's so speedy to pop up and play a single track--but that doesn't help when I want to shuffle music or set up a playlist).

So I'm at my wit's end trying to find one that will do these things, if it indeed exists. (Personally, these requirements are so logical I'm surprised no one has created such a program yet, but maybe there's just not enough people who really care about managing their music to this level.) If it doesn't, is there anywhere I should post ideas for programming projects? I'm not a programmer, else I would have tackled this long ago. (I should mention I had a boyfriend who was, who started creating such a program for me, but when we broke up, that kinda stagnated. I've still got all his code, binaries, and such on my computer, but it's in definite alpha stages so far, and he was trying to code it to work on both Ubuntu and Windows both, since he ran Ubuntu, so that made things a bit interesting for him.)

Anyone know of Special Purpose Chat Sites?

I Googled heavily for my answer before I posted here. I actually got lots of hits but nothing that quite seemed to meet my needs. I figure that what I'm trying to do must have been done before so I just need to find the right set of geeks to help me.

I'm trying to set up a chat area for members of another website but for the sake of argument, it might just as well be "for" LJ users as it presents the same sorts of challenges. You'll see what I mean. I'd be willing to do it with software and set up a server to run it out of from my house if I absolutely had to, but ideally I'd prefer to have it hosted elsewhere.

So, I would like to know if an online chat site currently exists that offers the following features:

Moderated membership:
Meaning that one or more moderators have the ability to disable or delete a member who is abusive or who attempts to create a fake account there.

User names unique to users outside the site:
Meaning that users can create names on this chat site that reflect their user names on another site, (to be verified by the above listed moderators. I don't even especially care if the solution is aliases for existing user names, ie, the site could allow users who are members of Yahoo IM or AIM or Google IM to log in and slip on an alias for this chat room that is not the user name they are registered under with that IM account.

Preferably, but not necessarily, Free (or advertising supported):
Meaning there are no fees to members, although a small fee would not be out of the question.

BTW, if you decide that I should go the "host it myself" route, please understand I prefer to run linux where possible but I am also competent with windows. I am mostly not a mac user, but I have a couple and could even use one for the project if required.

Hi I am new.

Okay so I need some advice/help.

I am looking for a particular software for my mac and I really really really really don't have the cash to buy it right now so i am considering trying torrents for the first time. Because I keep running into torrent files of the program (Final Darft 7) but I really know absolutely nothing about how to do it and how safe it is or if I am better of not even getting into it.

So this community seemed like it could probably help me out with basically giving me a rundown the do's and don'ts of torrents and what the best clients are etc.

if this is not an appropriate post I apologize and delete away but I really would love it if someone could walk me through it. Because I find everything I read is just piling up and the info is just getting overwhelming.

Thanks in Advance

Hi All,

I've found pretty cool application (named livestream) which allows remote password protected webcam access from mobile handset.
The only problem is that the service is not free :-)

Does anybody knows something about similar services?

Freeware Question

Howdy. I've been wanting to purchase PhotoShop for some time but can never afford it. When I mentioned this to a friend, he said, "OH! You should use GIMP." So I've been wandering around the GIMP site, and I've determined that
1. I do have Apple X11 installed per requirements
2. I've downloaded a recent version of pkg-config
3. I've downloaded a recent version of FreeType
I'm stuck, however, on the GIMP toolkit and libart requirements. Can anyone offer a poor soul some help on these two steps? I'm looking at all of these and can't figure out what, exactly, I'm supposed to download! Once I get that part done, I should be able to open the GIMP.app and get it running.

(Here is the Install List from GIMP.org that I'm working from.)

I was wondering if anyone knew a good program that lets you turn a few minutes of a dvd into a wmv file? Preferably, something I can download a free trial of online (I only need it for one thing). Thanks!

Organizing Text Files

I was wondering if anyone out there could tell me where to find a good program for organizing large amounts of text? I'm collecting/writting a large website, and I need a better way to organize my information than windows directories. I've been playing with the idea of stuffing everything into an Access database, but I imagine that the file would become quite sluggish.

Any ideas are appreciated.

journal prog?

I've decided to start keeping a private journal as well as a public one, and I'm wondering if there are any downloadable programs out there that are set up the same way (or close to) as Livejournal. I really like the calendar views where you can view days and click on entries. I may end up just making a private LJ for myself, but I'd much rather have something that will save all my entries on my hard drive, especially since it's a little painstaking to backup your livejournal.

thanks much for any info :)

Online Database

Hello.

I am hoping that someone may point me in the right direction. I am looking for an on-line database that I could use to organize all of my articles. I'm a psych grad student and have quite the overwhelming stack of journal articles, etc. I've thought about using access to input the information so I can search by groups (i.e.: psychodynamic theory, Jung, marriage and relationship) but would much rather have this information on line.

Is there a free or inexpensive site that will allow me to do this?
