I live this program, and have used it for a number of years now. However, I've just replaced my PC, which now runs Windows 11, and I can't use Gedxlate, as it displays a run-time error, which shows a problem with comdlg32.ocx ?
Bill, Try using VMware to run your older verison of Windows. That is how run GEDxlate.
There is a help on his web page. You hace to run a couple of command from the COMMAND PROMPT and it has to be "run as administrator". Command are: Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.26200.7462] (c) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.C:\Windows\System32>C:\Windows\SysWOW64\regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\COMDLG32.OCXC:\Windows\System32>C:\Windows\SysWOW64\regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\COMCTL32.OCXC:\Windows\System32> Now running it under Windows 11
Graham, fails everytime
I love it. It is so useful to be able to translate a gedcom into a useable spreadsheet with all the information you need. Enables you to check research and easily compare
I love this program. I use it to extract data from my gedcom file and put into MS Access file, where I run SQL. Really handy. Only downside is it doesn't extract all fields. However, what it does download provides me with all the information I currently need.
