Who We Are
Gender identity should be ripped out of the law.
That statement wouldn’t be controversial among lawyers if they knew what gender identity was: a status that the subject chooses at whim and expresses in words (male and female) that mean something else. But they don’t know.
Many judges erroneously find that gender identity is a medical concept, or at least a psychological one that can be verified by a doctor. Elite lawyers from the ACLU, “biglaw,” and the highest ranks of government have made that case (dishonestly). Other members of the bar either refuse to analyze “gender identity” or are perplexed by it. This latter group includes attorneys who have litigated family court cases about “transgender” kids!
But some US lawyers know what gender identity is. We’ve formed a group called Gender-Critical Law Society to educate and galvanize the legal profession. Our work includes persuading the judiciary to allow lawyers, parties, and witnesses to use sex-based pronouns in their courtrooms. We’ll be posting news about that shortly.

We also interview professionals who work tirelessly to expose gender identity in the courts. Check out our conversations with Peter Daly, a leading UK lawyer, and Kristopher Kaliebe, an American psychiatrist who serves as an expert witness.
Here are a few of our members:
Hon. Elspeth B. Cypher (ret.) is Board Secretary of the Women’s Liberation Front (WoLF). In 2024 Elspeth retired from the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts as an associate justice. Before that she served as an associate justice on the Massachusetts Appeals Court. She has also worked as a prosecutor and as a defense attorney and taught in several law schools. She is passionate about the rights of women and girls and looks for ways to advance women's sovereignty.
Kara Dansky (licensed in DC) regularly represents Women's Declaration International USA on amicus briefs before federal courts, including now roughly half the federal courts of appeals and the US Supreme Court. She publishes The TERF Report and has authored two books: The Abolition of Sex: How the 'Transgender' Agenda Harms Women and Girls and The Reckoning: How the Democrats and the Left Betrayed Women and Girls.
A lifelong Democrat with a past career in criminal justice reform, Kara now calls herself a "full time unemployed professional TERF." She has spent ten years fighting for the sex-based rights of women and girls because as a radical feminist, she cares about women and girls as a sex class. She also thinks it's important to ground public policy in material reality.
Kathleen Dooley (NC) is semi-retired after 30+ years of practice. She’s now working hard for gender-nonconformity in the workplace and the courts. She opposes “gender identity” laws because they’re based on a fallacy. Sex is binary and immutable.
Erin Friday (CA) has been a registered Democrat for more than 30 years. She is the President of Our Duty-USA, a national nonpartisan organization dedicated to shielding children and vulnerable adults from the influence of gender ideology, and a Director for Genspect-USA. She is heavily involved in legislative advocacy related to gender interventions. She has authored multiple amicus briefs in cases before the Supreme Court and federal courts of appeal providing the perspectives of parents of gender-confused children and detransitioners. Her work and viewpoints have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, The Daily Signal, The Federalist, Daily Wire, The Epoch Times, Prager U and Post Millennial. CBS, Fox News, News Nation, and multiple documentaries have featured Erin’s expertise on parental rights and child protection.
Glenna Goldis (NY) is a consumer protection lawyer and gay rights activist. She publishes a newsletter about the movement for “transgender” rights, Bad Facts. She argues that gender medicine is a consumer fraud.
Romy Mancini (NY) was a lawyer for the ACLU Lesbian & Gay Rights Project (as it was then called) from 2001-2003 and then served as in-house counsel for The Episcopal Church for 16 years. Now based in San Francisco, she organizes with the activist/social group Women Are Real and Our Duty. Her work includes drafting amicus briefs and lobbying the California legislature. She opposes gender ideology because it harms women, gays and children and because she values free speech and honors reality.
Martha J. Shoultz (TX) is co-founder of International Partners for Ethical Care and Director of its Transition Justice project. PEC’s mission is to raise awareness and support efforts to stop the unethical treatment of children by schools, hospitals, and mental and medical healthcare providers under the duplicitous banner of gender identity affirmation.
GCLS members also include law students and lawyers with expertise in corporate and constitutional law. Three are ACLU alums; four are gays who reject the forced teaming of sexual orientation with gender identity. We hold diverse political views but agree on one principle: gender identity does not belong in law.

Your explanation of “gender identity” is brilliant (and a mere 19 words):
Gender identity = a status that the subject chooses at whim and expresses in words (male and female) that mean something else.
I’m committing it to memory so I can use it at every opportunity. Thank you! And I will continue to spread the word about GCLS. May it quickly grow.
