<lj-template name="qotd" lang="en_LJ">
How do I spend time in an airplane? Shitting bricks! I hate flying and it's something I rather not do but it's the only way to sensibly get to Hawaii. So before the flight I'll stay up all night, get an AM flight, drink two Bloody Mary's in the air and pass the fuck out. That's how I plan my flights. This way if the plane comes down I'm already dead.

<lj-template name="qotd" lang="en_LJ">
Not at all. In fact I wish technology would hurry up and get here. Especially nanotechnology. See my legs are all fucked up and hopefully nanotechnology can do something for me. However, with all the religious assmonkies and political unrealist's we may never see this technology. One reason why politics and religion needs to stay the hell out of science. Better yet religion needs to stay out of everything.

If society moves away from technology it will be because religion brainwashed a large mass of people into thinking there is a god... well there is. As quoted from my room mate "There is a GOD... "we" just haven't created him yet."

<lj-template name="qotd" lang="en_LJ">
Of course. Do people honestly think this is the only galaxy out there? Either way if you think about life from a scientific view there would have to be another planet sustaining life out there. The odds are in its favor. Now if you think about it religiously do you think a God would be satisfied with just one population to rule over? Yeah right. If there is a god (or gods) he's probably got a lot more than just this galaxy out there but then again who really believes in that stuff now a days? Oh yeah... never mind.

Should we be afraid? Sure. Who knows what they will do when and if they make contact. Hell we might be the ones to make first contact somewhere out there. Also we are actively seeking other life forms out there. So continue on!
<lj-template name="qotd" lang="en_LJ">
1. Cat - Yeah she's my bastard animal child.
2. Laptop - It's small and would be a major lifeline to news if I'm stuck somewhere. Pending if there was wifi. Also I could waste time with it to keep me entertained.
3. Camera - Documentation of my experience.
4. Car - Only if I wasn't being flown out. Plus I can sleep in it and keep my cat with me if there's no hotel arrangements.
5. Clothing - Bare minimum and what would fit in the care without taking up a lot of space. Probably what would fit in a small luggage bag.
6. My really rare Spiderman comic book. (I can rebuild my $$ from that)

If I had time I would grab a duffel bag and throw my external hard drives with my photo's in them and various "must have" items that will fit. I also have my printed photo's under my bed in a container so if there was time I'd grab that too. I have a fire safe that's small but it can stay as it really only has documentation that's old and useless... I should put some more valuable items in there so I would want to take it. I'd also grab the snake. She's small and will easily be contained in a small pillow case for a while. Unfortunately I have a lot of collectibles and as much as it would pain me to not take them I have detailed pictures and documentation.

Not being able to return and leaving a lot of stuff behind isn't much of an issue to me. Take the essentials and I can rebuild from there. Long as I have my cat I'm fine.
I don't even remember the reason the day became a celebrated day. I'll have to google to remember why we even have this day. Then I'll probably say something like "Oh, that's pretty stupid..." and go on with the rest of my day. I will open and drink a six pack of rootbeer for the irish, if that's not good enough for them then fuck em.

The road trip.

So I needed a new ultra lite trout/panfish rod n reel set up. My Kunan has served me well but it's dying and needed to be replaced. Granted the Kunan is still a fishable rod but it's getting retired and will be used if I need to provide for a friend. I ended up not spending a lot and decided to get yet another Ugly-Stick. I could have saved $5 and just got the rod but the set was too good to pass up. I almost got the purple one. I also picked up a really nice and neat way of keeping my fishing rods all in one spot. This nifty little product looks like it should keep my stuff organized and out of the way. This also means I can get the stuff out of the closet and free up some... well it'll make it easier for me to organize the closet when I get to it. Now that I'm thinking about it I should have picked up the Browning tackle backpack too. I usually tack a tackle of weights, hooks and leaders with me on the open sea boats but why should I get my daily backpack all salty, wet and possibly fishy smelling... Dang things were on sale too at $24.99 (which was 50% off). Never mind I have the perfect replacement! I have a camera backpack that has a storage area below and above! Since I got the new back pack for the camera I can just convert this one to what I saw. I'll need to get some smaller plastic containers from wally world but hey why the hell not! Besides wallyworld has DOMO stuff right now so it's worth a look. I'll go Weds.

While we were there I looked at a few things to better my fun at the campgrounds. One was a sleeping mat which I hope to have before Big Bear on July 4th. Might even have it before May War. This combined with the egg crate should just what I need to get a good comfortable nights sleep.

I also think I'll get back into archery. It sucked trying to pull back on my recurve yet alone shooting the thing with my balance so whacked. I held a crossbow today and I think I like it. The ones we looked at were hunting crossbows but I think I can find one for target and hunting (just in case the zombie invasion happens in 2012). I just need to head out to the archery shop in Mira Mar and talk with them about crossbows and find out which one would be best for me. It would strictly be for target shooting at this point. I'd love to have a partner and I have an awesome recurve you can shoot with me :)

Have I mentioned I have a blogspot? I'm still trying to keep things updated more often. My website has begin it's reconstruction and hopefully will be a beautiful place to visit again. If you have a Blogspot hit me up.

Once I get some $$ from tomorrow I'll be heading down to make an appointment with the Frys for some installation of a new head unit and back up camera. Nothing fancy just time to get rid of the stock unit. Anyone available mid morning early afternoon to pick me up on a random day this week? Maybe a movie, lunch, walk in the park or whatever? Should only be a few hours if that for a radio install. Recently I just got a 500GB external HD as my 180GB is now full. Yay for insta rebates and special prices... only cost me $49.99.

Aquarium and such. The 60g is itching with me but I'm patient. I was thinking of putting some Pacu in it but now I'm kind of thinking of taking the tank a whole new direction and seeing where it goes. We have an Albino Oscar in the 30 right now and he's loving it. I mean who wouldn't love a big tank with a free all you can eat guppy bar in it? I also miss the electric catfish I had, which is why I want to take the tank in a whole new direction. The oscar should be fine with the catfish pending size. Too small and he'll try to eat it but too big and vice versa or a shocking surprize for the oscar. However, the other thing I could do is make it an indigenous tank and get some bass, panfish along with a catfish of "smaller" size to out in there. Not quite sure but hey I have time to dwell.
So the "such"... Went to LLL Reptiles in Escondido on Sunday and feel it's time to add to the single item zoo. Nothing huge or reptilian (allthough they do have 3 nice sized male Rosey's there that would go nicely with my female for VD) but possibly amphibian, scorpion or cockroachian. I just got some moss which the scorpioons or the frog will do fine in. The roaches I'll get a small 5g tank and just get a few as a test. The roaches are not like normal roaches here and won't get out of hand. Good thing is the fish, scorpions or the frog will eat the offspring.

I need to crackdown on the photo shoots. Maybe I can do one this week...

Fishing...

Two days worth of fishing. Not bad for me.

Sunday: Decided to wake up early and hit Miramar Lake. Got there around 7am and since they don't have a concession stand any more you have to "electronically" purchase your fishing permit. OK, not a bad idea but not a good one... seems it only takes cash. So without $8 in cash I had to drive down to the AM/PM store and get some cash. Probably shouldn't have as I saw no city or state deputy at all. I remember as a kid fishing there the rangers would check up on ya at least 3-4 times daily. Different ones too! Now they don't even care. Any case I get my permit and start heading over to the one and only ADA accessible fishing ramp. I get there and this thing is mangled. Looks like the storm pushed it up on to the shore and instead of being nice and "accessible" it was a bit of a climb to just get on the ramp part itself; which was then a steep incline to walk. NOT very accessible. There were some people there that said it had been that way since the rain stopped. Well if it's been that way since the rain stopped and here it is 2 weeks later why is it not fixed? Meh... I'll be writing a letter to the city about that lake. Oh just so I get it out of the way now so I can continue my rant, I did catch one trout. So the other thing that got on my nerves are the people walking, jogging, biking, blading and whatever else on the CITY road that goes around the lake. People walking the same direction on both sides and not moving out of the way of vehicles really pissed me off. I was literally telling people to please move to the far right when a vehicle comes up. Then when I used the horn because people were wearing headphones I got the nastiest looks. Best of all was when old people would tell me to slow down and I could tell them "I'm only doing 7MPH and the limit is 15MPH" before I passed them. I think I'll be trying to get Miramar to charge people for day usage... if I have to pay to fish they have to pay to walk. It is after all only fair, right? My main beef is the accessibility of the lake and not only that but I hear they're getting rid of the boats here soon. Hopefully they put all new fishing docks in real soon.

Monday: Now the adventure in fishing begins. Court invited me to come along with him on a squidding trip($45). I said sure and since I've never done this before thought it would be good to try something new. Besides how big could a squid get? Here I am thinking about 5-10lbs max, boy was my bubble about to be burst. However, not all is 100% perfect in the land of squid fishing. I brought my own rod and reel set up. I had the bait caster with 60lb braided line (which in reality was about 80lbs) and a hefty deep sea fishing pole. I should be ok but my reel didn't hold any where near enough line for where we were going. So I had to rent gear($12). Now then I knew I needed to buy a squid jig but again wasn't really expecting what I actually had to get. I didn't need to get the biggest but the guy didn't really try to sell me on the smaller so he settled to really upscale the middle. Which I bought ($17.99). So now I have a squid jig that might only see usage once a year for a few hours. Although I think a bit over board the old saying goes, "The bigger the bait the bigger the fish" and I was about to be schooled. So I've spent probably more than I wanted to but I was being promised a lot of squid! $75 bucks in I better have fun. We get on the boat and off we go. We get close to where we're going and we get a nice little "Squid Seminar" in the galley (which BTW the New Seaforth's cook is awesome!) and then it's fishing time! Deep water. I let my line go out and about 5 minutes later it hits something. WOW! I'm realized I'm in for a fight. 20 minutes later and I have just experienced a 50lb squid fight. I am spent. I do this 4 more times, losing 2 and landing one more. Moving up and down the boat, enduring tangles here and there. Good fun but a lot of work. I am really happy my legs did great. I am also really happy the crew and the other people on the boat helped me bag my squid as the deck hands in the seminar said we would be responsible for doing it ourselves. So after 4 extremely large squid fights I'm ready to rest and then get right back in the fight. Now here's the downer. We left at 4pm, it takes us 45-60 minutes to get to our fishing spot, we fish for an hour and then we're back on land by 7pm. I paid $45 for a fishing trip that was supposed to last until 10pm and we're back 3 hours early. Somewhere in there I'm a bit disappointed but at the same time I understand the reasoning for cutting it short. They asked us to only take what we would use and seriously these squid were in the 40-60lb range. One of my 50lb squid gave me 4 steaks easily 12x12 inches each and about 1.5 inches thick. People were keeping 5-10 of these guys and there were 45 people on board. Almost 400 squid caught in one hour!!! INSANE! So needless to say I still feel due to the amount of money I spent I should be entitled to a discount on another trip or other type fishing trip. I'll also save up for a reel that can handle the haul a lot better. The only thing is I fear it's not going to get much use. Other than the some what weird sense of feeling about the $$/time ratio I had a blast but I'll only be doing this once a year if at all.

I did take some photo's of the trip and my catches. Check em out at my flickr page.

Recently also found out that Lake Poway did indeed drop their "State License" requirement to fish there. I wonder how they got that passed? I'm glad though but wished it was the other way around too. I wish that all lakes would drop the need for permits and only require a state license to fish. I guess it goes to being a city reservoir instead of a state park? I wonder if the Fish and Game Wardens are also leaving? I also hear that Lake Miramar is going to be getting rid of their boats for sale. That's going to suck for anyone wanting to go fishing on the lake and do not have their own boat or a float tube. I'll be looking into a small 1-2 man inflatable for myself. I saw one at Miramar and thought that would be perfect for me. I just need to find one.

So yeah me and fishing. Might go for a walk tomorrow but might just hit up a movie instead.

The beginning of 2010.

Weight: 235lbs
Goal is to lose 35lbs this year and strengthen my legs up.

I'll be doing some walk regiments (is that even the right word to use?) which will be open to anyone that would like to go. I'm not holding hands or asking people to be there but if you would like to walk a few hours a week to lose some weight please come along. Tuesdays will be mixed up with the Bal Boa Park and their free museum special. (Schedule below) However, it won't be limited to that at all. We might head to the SD Zoo or even some other popular place in San Diego that is a nice easy platform to walk at. Malls can even be a place. Kids are welcome and if you have a camera you'll definitely want to bring it.

For people not able to make it on Tuesdays I'll be attempting a Sunday walk as well. Sunday walk will probably start Feb since I'm going to be busy this sunday and the 24th. I'll set something up. Let me know if interested.

Times will be 10am and we'll pretty much walk 2 hours unless we go someplace like the Zoo, Sea World or the Wild Animal Park. I figure we can start at 10am and walk enough to be hungry for a noon lunch.

Jan 1st I went to the International Car Show... Pretty unimpressed. There were more than a few companies that didn't even show up and no concept cars. The event was limited to one floor and pretty much was a Camarofest. Not to say I don't like the Camaro but we've seen the new model since Transformers came out and the "oooh and Awe" of it just wasn't there. Got some nice pictures and made the walk without the use of a chair. I did see a chair there that I would have no problem using. It was basically a power chair with tractor treads on it. The price was a bit out of their minds... $8K my ass. I saw the 2009 Honda Ruckus going for $1900! Interesting too when a 2006 goes for $1600-$1800 used. I still need a job before I buy one.

Recently watched District 9, Rob Zombies Halloween and Zombie Strippers. Never saw them before and loved them. I have Inglourious Basterds and The Dark Knight next. I've seen them but they're worth seeing again.

I have a photo book and a calender to work on this year. Speaking of I need a FX make up artist to help on the calendar. I'll also be dabbling in some home crafts as well. As always my Zazzle.com shop is available for mouse pads with my photography on them.

New year.

Pretty much means you write 2010 as the date. Nothing more. I gave up on resolutions a long time ago. I never understood the "I'll make a change from [insert random bullshit excuse you suck and are going to probably die from whatever it is you're going to put off until the new year...6+ months away]. Why not just do it?

Any ways be safe if you go out. It's been 15 years since having to visit a funeral in the first week of January and I don't particularly want to break that record.

As for resolutions or reflections... I have none. I'm quite content and happy.

Some genuine trout fishing will be had this Monday.
Early fishing is here again! 5am roll out to Lake Cuyamaca!
Mental note: Do not forget the net!

Anyone interested in coming by please do. Me and Court will be fishing off the only dock.
It's cold! So bring warm clothes. I went up there on Thursday and there was snow on the ground from the last rain storm.

Speaking of fishing I finally caught something at Santee lake. Pretty nice trout too.

I have my 5 year disable license here ready to be signed off by my doctor if I can get a hold of him. I think he's on Xmas vacation. Hopefully I can get to him before long.

Update!

So most of you might know my car has a festive cricket in it. It only shows up for the holidays and usually right before the warranty work is finished. This year it showed up 3 months early and was taken care of quickly. I'm just not sure what to do if it shows up again next year. I mean really this has got to stop but how? If it shows up again in 2010 I will be writing a letter to Scion Corp and asking them to replace the transmission, clutch and or engine because this is not fixing the issue. I'll probably get laughed at but oh well. Any case the car was making some weird popping sounds at acceleration and deceleration. Me not being any where near mechanical know it all I thought it was just the car settling from the tune up it so desperately needed... that wasn't the case. Seems the suspension needed some tightening up and that fixed the popping sounds.Thank you KM Toyota. I would take my car to CV Toyota but unfortunately it's just too far for me to realistically take it there. Even with the discount I might get... I lose in gas mileage.

It's raining. Normally I love the rain. It washes off a lot of the grime in our city and makes things look clean again. The down side is it gets cold and miserable for a lot of people and that makes them act, write about and even call others depressed. Oh well. Rain should last a while from what I hear. Be safe out there if you have to travel in it.

Bacon.
Bacon Peanut Brittle.
Chocolate covered Bacon.
Enjoy.

Christmas Cards heading out soon.

Still have my Canon 20D up for grabs. Then again I haven't really been trying to sell it.

Need a new mouse pad? Please check out my Zazzle.com page!
Mouse Pads and More!

I know it's late but on Friday me and some friends got our Rusted Proto Drakes from doing all the 10 man Hard Mode crap in Ulduar. I was happy because tomorrow is patch 3.3 and I was thinking they were taking the drakes out of the game like the ones from before. Thankfully I got the drake before but I also heard they weren't going to piss off their fans again like they did before. Which sucks too because I only had the 10m OS 3 Drake to do for that title, drake and achievement. Oh well. ICC comes out tomorrow and the race to kill Arthas begins. We still need to kill Anub 25m Heroic... God I love and hate this game.

Think Geek still hasn't gotten me my swine flu plushy but at least I have HIV, mad cow, flu and E.Coli to keep me entertained.

Christmas shopping is done. I have 2 just because gifts to buy and then that's officially it. Got my White Elephant gift for the Xmas party. Plus I got myself a graphic novel as well. I mean really "Tales from Wonderland" how could I resist? I still need a few of the toys from American McGees Alice line but that can wait.

Anyone like Bestbuy? I have a $50 gift card that may need a change out for say a Fry's or $50 cash. Let me know if interested.

Well I didn't get the job with SDPD. I'm a little confused because the interview I took had nothing to do with the call center and everything to do with the actual police dispatching. I'm going to call Monday and ask some questions. Doubt I'll get any where but there's no harm in asking.

I see that Supershuttle is hiring for a dispatch job... lol. They couldn't afford me and there's no way Mike would ever re-hire me.

The cold is going away. I can breath normally for the most part and pretty much just have a cough.

Ants have invaded the house once more.

Going to try out this blogspot.com again.
Goodness.

So Saturday I had my appointment slash interview with SDPD. I was asked a series of questions and had to answer them while 3 people took notes. Finally something good came of working in a dispatch center for 11 years... Not to mention this job starts off 2K "more" than where I left off at. I hope I did good and get to go on to the next round which is the background check. Then the polygraph test.

I wanted to go fishing but never made it out anywhere.

Sunday we went to Disneyland and CA Adventure. For what started out late going ended up in win win! We first went to CA Adventure to hit the "Corn Dog Ride" but it was out of commission so we hit the "Turkey Leg Ride" and filled our tummies with this turkey taste sensation. I have never had a DLand turkey leg and I was amazed at the taste. It was like eating a huge wad of smoked turkey bacon! It was NOM NOM NOM! We didn't eat in the best spot and definitely need a table, fork, knife and lots of napkins or wet naps. Should have hit the Tortilla Factory ride like 10 times and made turkey tacos. So after hitting up the foods we hit some places and went to Disneyland. The parade was starting and we hit the train full trip then stopped in New Orleans Square. Did the usual and not so usual rides, watched fireworks, got soaped on (which is still pretty awesome) and road some more rides then walked out of the park at 12:45AM. As usual I walked all of it. I also felt really good and didn't get incredibly tired.

I felt it today. Not too bad but bad enough where I ate my caramel apple for lunch, drank nothing but water all day except for the fanta orange for dinner which was delivered by Domino's. Which if you haven't already you have to try their new sausage sandwich. This thing is really good.

Played some WoW... Turkenator is a huge PITA to get but finally I got it. Now I just need to get one more rogue shot and I'll be a pilgrim with a turkey. Then I can decide on whether or not I'll bring my Priest or the Warlock over to this account. Not really sure if I bring the priest over if I can change sides and not be charged along with the transfer? Anyone that plays have a clue? If that's the case then it might be in my interest to bring the warlock over instead. I'll play with that in a bit.

So tomorrow I'll be taking it easy. I'm craving some burgers but really want a good burger. Fudds or possibly this place down in Hillcrest if it's still around. That'll be for lunch. I'll probably end up getting greek or sushi.

Weds is off to Universal Studio's to visit with a friend and his family. Not going to bring the chair and we'll see how that goes. I also will be bringing the camera. I rarely visit this theme park and I'd like to get so good pictures. My little camera just isn't living up to expectations. It takes good pictures but not good enough for me. There's something about it that I don't like. It's a Sony DSC-W220 12.1mp and less than a year old... which might be up for grabs for $150.00 here shortly.

New photo's for you to look at at gcat_inc. Just a couple from CA Adventures.

Speaking of photo's since a lot of my friends are creativity kicks I might as well get on the boat as well. Throw me some ideas of things you would like to see in pictures and I'll do my best to hunt them down and or create the picture. I have passes to Zoo, Wild Animal Park and Sea world as well as I'll be going to some theme parks within the next month or so. So send me some ideas!

Also I'm going to be sending out Xmas cards the first week of December. Email me your address and I'll send ya one for some holiday cheer.
