I thought this year with my main work/business would be sorta slow and I would have more time to work on my games, but this year has been double as busy as last year, which is somewhat insane to me. So naturally my ability to work on my game has taken a hit. Most of February I’ve just been getting orders out at the point of exhaustion. I do try to still work on it when I get a chance but February has just been bonkers for me, it’s been the best month ever running Ilovemycover.com in the 10 years or so that I’ve run it.
I do have a back story for Nexify and Morty the main antagonist. I have a really solid foundation for the game now and really the biggest thing I need to do is start putting the pieces together. I did also find a beautiful new look to my game that still keeps the same retro 1-bit vibe, but adds just a little more that I think brings out so much.
I hope to have a working example and video to post on here in the next couple of weeks then I’ll develop on that till I get the animations right for the stage, I really want Morty’s world to look alive and not just like a static screen, that’s my goal.
I was also excited to see the NextFest over on steam, it’s so neat to see everyones creations, I really hope I can get mine on there some day, just to see people playing my game and having fun with it really is all I want.
Now back off to making book covers for folks.
