I'm sorry I stopped updating. The last leg of my trip was rather stressful and so I ran out of positive things to post. I am leaving in..about 13 hours for Los Angeles. Tokyo is becoming a second home to me; I have friends here, some contacts, and I am keeping up with the upcoming music scene. Despite that, I likely won't move here. For foreigners, it's rather difficult to stay long-term in Japan without a whole lot of red tape. Also, I could get my birds into Japan but due to the Avian Flu restrictions, could not get them back into the States. I'm perfectly happy to operate from Los Angeles, where melons aren't $12 each and peanut butter exists. Please do not call me when I get into Los Angeles, as I am going to be jeg-lagged as all hell. *I realized that most of family doesn't know how to pronounce Japanese words. It's pretty easy: All letters are pronounced in sets of two, except for "n" which is by itself. Vowels: a as in "ah", e in "eh", o as in "oh", u as in "oo", and i as in "ih". If you see "ou", it's "oh" held for two counts instead of one. So, Kobe is "Koh-be", and Honshu is "ho-n-shu". Neat fact: tori, toori, and torii are three different things (bird, street, and entrance to a Shinto shrine).
