my doctor was a bit vague about this. He said to start using the scar strips right away to help prevent keloids (I already have 2 keloids on my chest) I know in most cases people wait a month or so to use the strips but he said I could go ahead. But he didn't say how long to continue using them or how often?? And how long I should leave them on before changing them? Do I just leave them on 24/7?

I don't like it too long, I'd rather keep the scruffy look, but all I've got is a normal razor. I know I need some sort of trimmer, but idk what to get, and considering I don't have much to work with, I feel like an electric razor is a bit silly. At the moment I'm using scissors.

I have been in T for seven years. Recently I had renewed my prescription and picked it up. It was accidentally thrown out in the bag that I had purchased it in. I had called my doctor and explained everything and the woman I spoke with said it was no problem and that he will renew the Rx. Well, he wanted bloods first (which made no sense as I had just been given a refill!!!). This is a doctor who works EXCLUSIVELY with the LGBT community. I live 2 hours away from his office and explained that I can't just walk in for a blood draw! It has been almost a MONTH since all of this started and he has still not refilled my Rx. I had my last shot about 3 weeks again and I take it every 2 weeks. My big concern is do I have to worry about menstruation starting again? I am unbelievably fucking furious with this guy and you would think that he and his staff would be far more considerate when they work with Trans people every fucking day!!! I just hope someone can give me a fairly concrete answer.

Thanks in advance!

I am now 7 months on T and I am starting to feel more comfortable with myself.

I was at the store the other day and had to use the restroom. Usually I try to avoid public restrooms if they don't have a family one. However, I had to go really bad and there wasn't a family one. As I walked out of the women's room a man probably in his 50's was walking towards the bathroom. He looks at me and just keeps walking in the door. He never looked at the sign on the side to see it said women's. He walked in, back out, looked at the sign, at me, and then looked puzzled. I laughed and said 'vote to change bathroom laws' and walked away. I guess I pass enough to be using the men's room now :)

I get T from Stroheckers. My prescription is valid for a few months and I'm allowed to get 4 refills total. However, at my usage rate, I only use 2. I'd like to get the additional 2 refills as backup, so I don't need to see the prescribing doctor as often.

In the past, however, I've had trouble asking for a refill too soon after already getting one (about 1 month had elapsed between the two refill requests). Stroheckers said that because the elapsed time was so short, they would need to get special doctor approval.

I've heard other people say that when their prescription is about to expire, they just ask the pharmacy to give the all of the remaining refills at once. Has anyone tried doing this at Stroheckers? What are the magic words?

Note: I'm not using insurance, so there shouldn't be a limit on that end to how many refills I can get at once.

Boxer Briefs for Packing

Ok, so I am always on here asking questions and not really contributing anything, but I have found something that may be helpful for other guys. These are the David Archy separate pouches boxer briefs. They are exactly what they sound like, boxer briefs with a pouch for the penis and a pouch for the scrotum. These are made for cis men and have really good reviews on that front. I find that they work really well with a soft packer. The way they are worn is a bit less discrete than typical boxer briefs (as you will see in the photos), but under clothing I've never felt that it is "vulgar", as in people getting an eyeful😁

The other thing I love about these, is that they are a fairly reasonable price. A 4 pack on Amazon costs $27.98. If you were to buy something specific to Trans men like SpareParts boxer briefs they cost $35.95 for one pair. I'm not trying to bash things made for and by Trans men, but oftentimes those items are very expensive.

There are a few drawbacks. The main one is, as these are made for cis men, when you pull them down to use the toilet you have to be mindful of the packer because it can slip backwards out of the hole. Second, like many boxer briefs in my experience, the legs do ride up, which is annoying. Lastly, these probably aren't great for an STP as things can be a little more difficult to maneuver around.

The photos included cannot be unseen and I am not responsible for any of you going blind!😁

Anyway, here is the link for them on Amazon if anyone is interested.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00DYNPH7Q/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1473819499&sr=1-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=david+archy+separate+pouch&dpPl=1&dpID=414lKHWpGzL&ref=plSrch

I'm looking for some other decent humxns (ftm, transmasculine, or non-binary) taking T to just talk about stuff and share their experiences, a safe space not full of judgey trolls. There's so much to this journey and cis people either just can't understand or feel weird talking about it or get bored hearing about it. Do people do that here? And if no, does anyone post that sort of thing on their private LJs who'd want to friend me/let me friend them? It's pretty isolating living in a small town and mostly knowing cis people.

Hi all!

My name is Julia, and I am a Master's student at the University of Aberdeen, I am in the Sex, Gender and Violence program. In order to complete this program, I am to complete a piece of independent research for my dissertation. I decided to research transgender people, particularly in the areas of their relationship to traditional masculinity and femininity, and passing. I will conduct qualitative interviews with them (via Skype or telephone), and now need participants! I have already got all the participants I needed who were assigned Male at birth, but I am still looking for 2-3 more people who were assigned Female at birth.

Would you be interested in participating in my research? Your experiences are very valuable to me! If this is the case, please send me an e-mail at:
j.perezcascon.15@aberdeen.ac.uk

I will then provide you with a document containing more comprehensive information about my research, and we can schedule the interview.

I look forward to hearing back from you!

Ive been having a problem lately where every so often I feel like I'm getting a UTI, and I drink water all the time, I eat pretty well, I do all the things, and then it'll stop and it'll go away. But then it always comes back. Sometimes it's a few days later, sometimes it's a week later, but it's a burning sensation and usually I feel very hot. I'm going to a gynocologist in a month or so, but I'd love if it would stop before then.
