FSI Student Programs
FSI offers opportunities to undergraduate and graduate Stanford students, both on and off campus, under the mentorship of our esteemed faculty. Click on each tab to learn more about our various opportunities.
FSI Student Programs offers summer-long internships related to international policy. All programs are fully-funded, all have an international focus, and all emphasize faculty mentorship. Stanford undergraduate and masters students from all majors are encouraged to apply.
To support research on international studies conducted by graduate students and FSI honors program students, FSI Student Programs provides funding for student-initiated research and for student participation in conferences.
Work as an undergraduate research assistant for one of FSI's fellows. Positions in all areas of study are made available based on the needs of our faculty.
FSI sponsors Stanford student-led initiatives (SLIs) that support our mission. Our sponsored SLIs are dedicated to promoting international diplomacy and engaging Stanford students in international affairs through partnerships with universities abroad. Each SLI has established partnerships with a certain country or region.
Two of FSI's centers, CDDRL and CISAC, offer honors programs for seniors. Each program seeks a diverse group of undergraduates from any department or interdisciplinary program. Students write their senior thesis on a subject with global impact that touches upon democracy, development, and rule of law, or international security.
The Europe Center at FSI offers a minor in Global Studies with a specialization in European Studies. The minor is designed for undergraduate students interested in the history, culture, politics, societies, and institutions of Europe. It allows students to organize their studies of Europe within a coherent and mentored minor. Students work with their minor advisor to develop individual programs. The minor is especially well-suited for undergraduates who participate in a Bing Overseas Studies Program in Europe, and helps them to prepare for/follow up on their experience.
