Honestly, the only thing I ever saw Chloe Moretz in was (500) Days of Summer, but I loved her in that and I think she's gorgeous. And I was bored and made a promise to myself to start Photoshopping more so here ya go.

Okok, so I've obviously failed in keeping up with this thing but I'm keeping it open for those times I'm super duper bored and resort to making shitty graphics or writing or doing whatever people do on here. So it won't be a constant thing but I post on my Tumblr daily so ~yeah.

Alsooooooo I have a newfound obsession with Andrew Garfield. Hence the large amount of my userpics that his face occupies. Oh god I haven't even seen TSN yet imagine my obsession after I see it. I just have a thing for large-headed stammering Jewish Brits that resemble Bambi. Ma mamma taught me how to pick 'em well :') Just thought I'd share that so ok, bye now!!!!1!!!1!

Tutorial I

This is my first tutorial, using grunge and light textures, using Gimp.

Turning this: into this: or this:

Let's begin, shall we?

1. Crop your image. I've found this coloring works best on images with a background of the same colors.

2. If necessary, sharpen your image. (filters>enhance>sharpen)
I sharpened mine 20% and then blurred part of Neal's face using the blur tool.

3. Duplicate the base layer and set to Screen 100%. This helped my icon's background appear completely white, as opposed to the white and blue sky in the original image.

4. Add a new layer filled with c1c1c1 - a light gray. Set it to Burn 60%. This intensifies the colors.

5. Add this grunge texture: (by damnicons, can be downloaded here)
Set to Multiply 90% so that it shows mostly on the background and only minimally on the picture's subject.

6. Add this grunge texture: (by kelle)

Set to Multiply 80%. I then erased the part covering Neal's ear.

To achieve the first icon, do this:

7. Add this texture: (by ~ransie3 on deviantart, download here)
Set to Screen 90%. I flipped it horizontally and vertically so it was in the top left corner, off of Neal's head.

And it's done!

To achieve the second icon, do this instead of 7:

7. Add the same texture:
I flipped it horizontally and set it to Multiply 95%. You may need to play with/move it a bit so you can see the subject.

8. Duplicate the previous later and set to Screen 30% to lighten the white-ish area. Depending on your image, the final product may be kind of dark (as mine is).

Annnnd, you're done!

I've very recently started getting back into graphic making, and I'm still a little rusty (given I was never incredibly good to begin with) but I've been experimenting a bit with some tutorials the last few days. Inception Screencaps

I've noticed a lack of good Inception screencaps lately on Tumblr and such. They all seem to be the same ones from IMDB. I've taken screenshots of the trailers, mostly the character one, that seemed different than what was already out there. Enjoy!
