It's impossible to share any user libraries here unless they are small (Maximum allowed file size is 10MB).  I've 'Unified' the Korg Wavestation VST for all the Korg fans, BUT it is 48MB compressed.  It includes all 900 patches.  So I guess I won't be sharing it.  Too bad.

If you have a dropbox, you could post it there with a link.

If you contact unifysupport@pluginguru.com and share a downloadable zip link of your library (dropbox/google drive etc) I'm sure that John would be happy to share it at PluginGuru.com (assuming it's done nicely with correctly named presets, no spurious third party plugins loaded as FX, correctly named layers)... however, note that the saved Unify presets must be based on the VST3 version of Wavestation for the best compatibility between Mac/Windows DAWs and to ensure future compatibility if Korg decides to drop support for the VST2 version (which will happen before the VST3 version for sure).

I'd certainly appreciate trying it out, as I'm a fan of the Wavestation keyboard/plugin - (I don't install the VST2 version of any plugins however to avoid these compatibility issues if I need to share a patch).

@wavesequencer - Hi, I uploaded the library to Dropbox for anyone to check out.  The link is at the bottom.

I've tried to follow the patch conventions of previous 'Unified' libraries, so hopefully it'll be satisfactory.

Things to note:

- I used the VST3 version of the Korg Wavestation plugin.
- It's been tested on both Windows and Mac.
- There are 900 patches, so every preset currently available for the Korg Wavestation has been saved in Unify2 format.
- The Preset library source (RAM,ROM, CARD, etc.) and Preset number are noted in the Unify2 patch comment section.
- Some patches are duplicates as they are from different RAMs, ROMs, and CARDs.  (But the patch comment will show which Korg RAM, ROM or CARD they belong to).
- The default background image is of a Wavestation keyboard, there are more in the media folder to choose from.
- A 'Unified' thumbnail image was also created for the library.
- I've tried my best to follow the Unify patch naming conventions and add the appropriate tags. Some Wavestation sounds are very unique!
- I've used the Pump House and FilterMax as the default layer effects.  (This was the convention for other Korg Unified libraries).
- The Aux effects and Master effects again are copied from the other Korg Unified libraries. (Aux - HallVerb, Omega Delay, WaterVerb),  (Master -  FlexEQ, Enforcer, and LoudMax).

Another note:  I sent Taylor a link (now broken) to this library a couple weeks ago, so I don't know if he took a look at it or not and passed it on to John.  Anyway, I hope someone gets some use out of it.

The library is available for download here:

Cheers!

Great job. I had a quick try. The Wavestation really does still hold up..sounds great.

Only very minor criticism is the macro knobs don't appear to be assigned to anything.

@wavesequencer

Thanks, I kinda left the macro assignment up to user.  I can certainly add a default macro knob assignment but doing that to 900 patches is a lot of work, unless I can find some python code to modify them all in a batch mode.

I can only assign the mod wheel and joystick to macro knobs.  The Wavestation VST plugin doesn't have any knobs to move except for the joystick and doesn't support Midi CC learn to my knowledge. (There's no manual or help for the plugin).   The joystick is assigned to CC16 (X) and CC17 (Y) by default.  All patch parameters are numerically entered.  It's so old school.  A real beast to program, but has great sounding presets!

For some useful background and some Python scripts, see https://github.com/pluginguru/unify-batch

Within that GitHub repo you'll also find a C++/JUCE program called PatchReformer that can do exactly what you need. Unfortunately the repo doesn't have any releases, but you can find prebuilt executable versions of the latest PatchReformer and another utility called LibraryRenamer (both very recently updated for Unify 2) at these links:

@getdunne

Thanks, Shane.

What I need is a tool to replace the macro parameters in a target patch file from a reference patch or text file.
I'll check out the scripts in your GitHub repos for ideas.

I do this kind of thing frequently for John, using a C++ program I hack at the source level for each situation. This can definitely be done using Python, and you might find it interesting to work on it, but if you just want the result I'm happy to do it for you. Let me know.

I wrote a quick Python script that replaces all matching MacroParameter tags for all xml files using the reference tags from a single input text file.  I suppose it could be modified to replace any tag sections.  I used your batch-unpack.py and batch-repack.py to convert the files for modification.

I added mod wheel, joystick X, and joystick Y macros knobs and a basic modulation generator for each.
There aren't any other controls available for automation in the VST plugin.
The 2nd row of macro knobs has the controls for the audio effects.

Hi Bruce! You're a rockstar to get this all put together. Thank you so much. I'll add a few more macro knobs to the set and release this to everybody in probably towards the end of the week. Typically what I do with PlugIns that give you limited parameters of the actual tone shaping parameters, I add built-in effects from Unify to modify the sounds. I can easily add Distortion, a LPF, a HPF and 2 AUX busses for reverb and delay which will get easily to 8 or 16 macro knobs. I have the tools to do this and apply it to all 900 patches with a very short amount of effort, so don't worry please. you did all the incredible challenging work of getting everything else in place. Again, ROCKSTAR due. The community will know of your efforts!

It's interesting that the unlike the M1 plug-in they don't really mention or show the card for each of the 6 Cards.

Just for your information, cards 4,5 and 6 are the 3 PCM cards we released for the Korg WSSR single-rack Wavestation. Probably 70% of the patches and all of the drum samples in those cards are from yours truly and were programmed using 8 button on the interface of the WSSR! Took a lot of time to program them but it what I did full-time for Korg back 30+ years ago. It's pretty amazing how many of my patches are in all 20 banks!

I have a possible secret add to the Unified library - if the patches still exist. I'll reveal if it happens, fingers crossed!!

Cheers!

The new additions sound great John.  I'll have to download your version when you release it.  I don't want any credit,  I just wanted to share the library with the community.

I had a Korg WSSR many years ago, it was very revolutionary at the time.  The user interface was a challenge though as you say, kudos to you for being able to create so many patches on it.  Your legacy lives on!

Thanks
