This isn't a rant against Unify, but an attempt to find a solution that would bridge the gap between what it is and does, and my own ability to navigate it.
I bought Unify when it came out, same day as the YouTube launch. I love the idea very much, and the Cinema Sojourn piano (removing the drone).
The second thing I need to say is that I'm a visual guy. I need an interface that understands how a creative mind works, so I don't need to decipher menus (words) or take a long time finding my way through after not using it for a month or 3. Or I get discouraged.
Sadly I have been discouraged very early on. It's a chore every time I open Unify, I get the feeling I'm stupid for not being able to use it. IMHO, icons are not universally used ones (except the mute/solo letters). Everything is pretty much the same two colors, and areas are not clearly defined.
I use Omnisphere, Kontakt, Alchemy, and others, and they all have a fairly helpful GUI which allows me to quickly dial in sounds and get to work. They all replicate the feel of a physical object, and that really helps.
1- Is there a way we can create our own GUI?
2- Has anyone done so?
3- Is there a "Unify for Dummies" video that explores the basic functions of the interface?
I'd love to use Unify extensively to add my favorite synths and patches (and use its libraries) which is why I bought it. Did I misunderstand something?
Thanks!
Andre

Sorry, no; Unify has no custom GUI features at this point.

Have a look at this YouTube playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTVyZuDID9ED4FcNgc8K_rlBXncYSyEbx
Beginner videos - please be aware new features have been added over time - but hopefully these help you some!
