Since Opera has released an official Flatpak version of Opera GX, it would be reasonable to expect the same level of support for the standard Opera browser.

Currently, there is an Opera Flatpak package available, but it is maintained by the community and not officially supported. An official Flatpak release would improve reliability, security updates, and user trust, especially for distributions that rely heavily on Flatpak as a primary packaging format.

Providing an official Flatpak for Opera would also ensure consistency across your Linux offerings and better support users in sandboxed environments.

@starchyme There's a hidden RPM package for Opera. I don't know why when we click the download button it only downloads the .deb file. I had to manually search for the .rpm file and then it showed up. If you don't mind not having the sandbox, you could try it. @starchyme If you don't mind the looks, there is an official Opera GX as flatpak, and everything works out of the box. I just needed to reopen the browser to be able to watch netflix
