Hello Opera Team,
We are reviewing browser options for use in a corporate environment and would like to raise several concerns regarding Opera that currently prevent its adoption within our organization.
At the moment, Opera cannot be approved for corporate usage due to the following reasons:
Built-in VPN functionality
Opera includes a built-in VPN that cannot be centrally controlled or completely disabled. This creates security and compliance risks in corporate environments where network traffic must be monitored and governed by internal policies.
Lack of corporate policy support
Opera does not support standard enterprise management mechanisms such as:
As a result, corporate security and compliance policies cannot be enforced on the browser.
No support for mandatory corporate extensions
Due to the lack of policy management, there is no way to centrally install and configure mandatory corporate security extensions (e.g., PhishJail, SentinelOne browser extension) with predefined settings.
Because of these limitations, Opera is currently classified as non-compliant for corporate use within our organization.
We would appreciate clarification on whether Opera plans to introduce enterprise-grade management features or provide an official solution for secure corporate deployment in the future.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best regards,
Vitalii
