Canon: What do you get when you combine Typical Male Lead #938475, a ton of baaaw, and girls whose hair colors will make you ~*see the rainbow*~? No, it isn't the worst orgy you've ever had in one night.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Key animes! Ryou is an average high-school student attending some random Japanese school. She gets pretty good grades and while she's fairly shy, she's the class representative for her homeroom. Kyou, her twin sister, is also a rep. for the homeroom she's in, but different classes doesn't stop her from coming in to check up on Ryou frequently (and by check up, I mean throw encyclopedias at possible sexual harassers).

While Ryou has short hair and Kyou has long hair, they each wear a ribbon on the opposite sides -- not that it's too hard to tell them apart, especially considering their personalities. Surprisingly enough, though, the sisters get along perfectly. Kyou is very protective of Ryou, and Ryou is very caring towards her sister. Even having a crush on the same guy doesn't split them apart!

Speaking of guys. Said guy is Tomoya Okazaki, considered a delinquent, but actually a pretty nice guy. Ryou has a crush on him, but due to her timid nature, she can't even think about going after him without Kyou's support (although Kyou secretly likes Tomoya too).

Since this is a harem anime, though, the sisters are of course not the only girls with their eyes on Tomoya. However, the girls plus Tomoya and his comedic relief friend, Sunohara, end up forming a drama club together and becoming very close friends. When two of the girls, Fuuko and Kotomi, end up having to reveal their angst-ridden baaw-inducing backgrounds (remember: KEY), the group becomes even closer knit. Which is... pretty much it actually since um, well it's not like there's a lot going on in a shoujo harem anime ):

Anyway, personality! Ryou is the younger Fujibayashi twin, and she is very attached to her sister. She depends on her a lot, since without Kyou, she doesn't have a lot of courage. Ryou is a very quiet person, although she's definitely more outspoken than girls like Kotomi. She's kind of awkward with herself and worries a lot, but there's still a whole lot of kindness and optimism that seeps through. While she can't cook at all, her special skill is fortune telling. Her predictions are always either messed or just outright wrong, though, no thanks to them being incredibly specific. Also she and her sister have a pet pig... boar... thing! named Botan that she was watching when surpraiz surpraiz, village time!

Sample: L-let's see, um... hold on! I'll get the hang of this in a minute-- waaah! Oh, oh no, I dropped them! My cards... oh, thank you for your help! Okay, shuffle, and then draw!

Hmm... well, according to this, tomorrow you're going to have an encounter with a tall, dark, and beautiful woman who's... going to take you away to another world?! That can't be right. But I don't think I'm reading these wrong, at least. Oh, there's more! You'll be put to work and live in a village and meet other people from other worlds-- huh? Hey, you're right! This has already happened!

I'm sorry... that wasn't a very helpful fortune at all. A-at least I know my readings were right, though! That's today's silver lining then! -- Eeek! Not again! My cards are going everywhere! No, Botan, don't eat them...!

She's a nice girl, albeit a bit shy. Helped her with her violin recital and considers her a friend!

Sunohara Youhei:
Doesn't really know him that well, but he hangs out with Tomoya, and Kyou kicks him a lot. Thinks he's a nice guy, although he makes her feel nervous sometimes.

Tomoyo Sakagami:
She's been friendly with Tomoya and Nagisa, so while Ryou doesn't know her very well personally, she thinks she must be a nice person and would like to be friends with her!
