What do my readers want?

I am acutely aware that I haven' t been posting a lot lately. Partly this is because of various activities relating to polishing off the dissertation (which is now just about 700 pages). But partly, it's that I have no idea what people actually like to read in my journal. Back when this journal first started, I put up a lot of political rants, some tongue-in-cheek, others serious, but I got the impression that people weren't too keen on that. I still do so occasionally, but have toned it down quite a bit. Problem is, other than odd website anecdotes/keywords and the occasional thing that's too great to pass up, I rarely know what people want, and so often don't post crap. You see, at heart, I want to make my friends happy, be liked, and actually enjoy knowing what other people like - even if, in the end, I do my own thing. I do actually like doing journal entries and especially like receiving lots of comments. I mean, if I wanted to write a diary, I'd have a damn diary, and wouldn't be putting stuff up here for all to see. So, in the interest of rejuvenating my own interest in LJ posts, I've decided that asking you, faithful readers, what you'd like to see.

I'm not a paid user, so I can't make a poll, but I'm not sure I want a generic "click one option" answer, anyway. So, my question to you is, "What would you most like to see me do with this journal?" Feel free to expand and expound as desired. Some possible choices:

- I want more funny web site crap! Like that last one about the bug! Ugh!
- I want to hear more about your exciting personal life, up to but not including your masturbatory habits.
- I am very interested in numerical notation, and want to hear how your thesis is progressing on a regular basis.
- I like to read your political/social commentary, which is extraordinarily brilliant and insightful.
- I have low self-esteem, and need to hear about other people's woes to feel good about myself. Complain about your life more!
- Go to hell! Stop posting already!

You get the picture. All comments that are written in good faith will be taken seriously.
