Craunch the marmoset
The title of this post may be elusive to you, if you haven't read Curtana's recent post on English as She is Spoke, the most bizarre English phrasebook ever written. Actually, even if you have read it, you may find this phrase to be completely meaningless. The phrase 'to craunch the marmoset' is found in the "Idiotisms and Proverbs" section of that remarkable text, but unfortunately, no meaning is given for it.
However, I refuse to believe that any utterance is so incomprehensible that it can't be given a meaning, if we just try hard enough. And what kind of word-guy would I be if I just surrendered without a fight. But I need your help. What the heck does 'craunch the marmoset' mean? Alternately, given that we shouldn't feel restricted by such a niggling detail as reality, what should it mean? So far, I've hypothesized that it means 'bite the monkey', which begs the question of what the heck that's supposed to mean. Any suggestions (nonsensical, facetious, or hilarious, preferably) would be greatly appreciated.
