Not just a token update
I realize that I haven't posted in over a week, for which I apologize to anyone who just can't get enough of me ... whoever you might be. It's not that I'm sick of you (really!) or this journal, but I just haven't had anything notable to report. But now, I can report that over a week has passed without anything interesting happening, which is notable in itself ...
I think I may be in the stage of gaming withdrawal where I don't even feel much like gaming any more. It's been over a month since the last Skaia game, and I'm not in any other games, but surprisingly, I haven't really missed it that much. I know that everything will pick up again soon enough. But if anyone is running a good game and wants an extra player, I could probably find the time. Oh, but nobody who's on my List can be in the game, or I'm out. Sorry, but I'm much pickier than I used to be. Getting old and crotchety, I guess.
So, in the unexciting world that is my life, I've been doing a lot of work on my thesis, and working on my website, and ... well, that's about it. Oh, and I'm doing some work for my supervisor, indexing and proofreading one of his new books to make some extra cash. He's paying me a flat rate that will, I think, end up somewhere around $60 - 75 / hour when all is said and done (!), because he just has money lying around and feels like giving it to me. Julia thinks that I must be Bruce's favourite graduate student, because he keeps giving me more money and also calls me up when he finds interesting things. I'm not completely convinced by her theory, since that's just the way he is; conversely, I do sometimes wonder whether Julia's supervisor has her head up her arse or something like that, since she seems a bit spaced-out, always thinking of things two weeks too late, and the like.
Anyway, now that Julia's done her latest thesis draft, I imagine I'll have more time to be on this computer and make LJ entries.
