Grocery anecdotes
Today I did the grocery shopping, which is not that noteworthy, except for two unusual things that happened while I was there.
1) While wandering down the cookie aisle, I noticed that the Choco Leibniz cookies were right next to the Fig Newtons. I couldn't help but wondering whether they were engaged in a longstanding quarrel over which developed the cookie calculus ...
2) I have always been perplexed by the fact that there are two commercials for pizza, each using the same slogan, namely, "It's not delivery, it's Delissio / DiGiorno!" While looking at pizza, I remarked that there was only Delissio pizza, which led me to wonder whether Delissio is just the Canadian name for what is called DiGiorno in the US, a fact I've just confirmed on the Internet. Anyway, I didn't buy a pizza, but just a minute later, when I went to the cash, I told the cashier that my groceries were for delivery. She looked at me and without a pause, said, "It's not delivery, it's Delissio!" Spooky ...
