What to Expect

After submitting this form, you will hear from a SolSmart technical assistance provider who can help you discuss next steps to achieve your SolSmart designation. SolSmart technical assistance is provided at no cost to communities. Most communities can complete the bronze designation in 2-4 months. This process will include:
- Receiving a zoning review that summarizes opportunities and barriers to improve how you regulate solar energy;
- Developing a permitting checklist which provides transparency about your solar permitting processes; and
- Completing training on solar best practices provided by the SolSmart program at no cost.
