hey all, sorry I kind of stopped posting layouts here all of a sudden, I got way too busy with two jobs and a general hectic life, but now that everything's settled down with work I can finally start making things again, alas, livejournal kind of went to shit since, so I've set up shop on Dreamwidth. hi guys! sorry we haven't exactly been the activest comm out there! sadly, this fact is not going to change since sufferer and howlite pretty much quit and i am trying to see if livejournal will regain some senses and give some respect it's users. depending on what's going to happen until FEBRUARY 5TH, fluos is temporarily closed (like we weren't already inactive? but yeah). if livejournal continues to bash it's users, then i guess we're headed over to dreamwidth.

so, right now, everyone go join campus@dw, jojo will still make amazing layouts there. as for me, i'll be watching lj and the dumbfuck igrick.

hahaha a collab from long ago with hierarchy. this layout was originally called penelope but after some redoing and bluh bluh i decided that it should be called jiayi after lavender88 cos she's cosmic cool and i hope this layout is too.

Ah, summer. The perfect time for spamming your layout community.

So, fois and I have been working on a new project: making Homestuck-themed Livejournal layouts! Great for your own journal, or a RP-journal, whatever floats your boat.

Each layout will be customised specifically for a certain character, featuring userheads, corresponding color-schemes, and more! I just finished Part One: The Kids right here, but Part Two: The Trolls should be coming your way soon.

Also! These layouts are made specifically for S2 Flexible Squares, so make sure you have your LJ set to that theme if you're gonna use any of these. Go to Livejournal: Customize like usual, >Custom CSS in the sidebar, and then set all drop-down boxes to 'No'. Insert code into empty box, and voila.

thank you for all of you who voted in the poll! so delighted that you all have taken the trouble to help us out ♡ however, as lovely as your thoughts in voting, the results aren't what i hoped it would be.

the project scroll bar, for which i have already made two layouts for, is only useful/usable to those who use safari, chrome and maybe IE. the majority of those who voted use firefox according to the results and this is why i would like you guys to tell me if i should continue on with these projects nonetheless.

tl;dr thanks for voting, but firefox can't see customized scroll bars. should i continue project scroll bar or not?

on another note, we're fixing up the codes again. this is because the new lj navi strip has a different code and all our previous coding for it are overwritten. if you want to do it yourself, i found this page helpful.

▶ How do you install a custom CSS layout?
For Flexible Squares, follow these instructions to install one of our layouts:

> Go to Customize and switch to S2 if you haven't already; all livejournal accounts are automatically set to this, so you shouldn't have to worry.

> Go back to Customize and choose one of these styles, any one will do, as long as it's a Flexible Squares layout.

> Click on Customize Your Theme.

> Look on the blue sidebar to your left, there should be a Custom CSS option, click on it.

▶ Do you do requests?
Honestly, it depends. If you want a simple LJ layout, then maybe, depending on how busy we are. But anything complicated, unless it sounds like the bees knees, we're probably going to decline for various reasons; but it's worth inquiring about.

▶ How do you install a custom Plurk layout?
Right next to My Profile, in the top bar, there should be a small edit option, click on that and go to Customize Profile and paste the code inside of the big box under the profile title.

It's the same deal as the Livejournal layouts; if we have time, we will consider it, but chances are slim. Sorry!

▶ How do I add somebody when there is no Friends section?
They would have to add you first, then you can accept their request. Some of my layout's don't include the Friends or Fans section for both privacy and aesthetic reasons. (I had originally done that for myself, but liked how it looked, so I incorporated it into some of my layouts. Once again, it's all personal preference.)

▶ There's a problem with one of your layouts, what do I do about it?
TELL US! We will happily fix any problem with our codes.

▶ Can I edit your codes?
Feel free, just note that some aren't designed to have certain elements, and incorporating them will result in the layout becoming either wonky or just plain non-functional. Make sure to leave the credit in there, too.

▶ Where do you get your background images/textures?
Well, from pretty much everywhere. We've all been collecting them long before this place was even a thought, so we have NO idea where any of them have come from. If you'd like one, or if one of them is yours, please leave a comment! I'll happily give it to you or credit you in here.

uh, so a while ago, on the suggestion post i made, someone requested a scrolling tag list/sidebar thing. so i'm kind of trying to do a scrollbar project where a layout will have different scrollbar features?? yeahhhh so while IE, chrome, safara allows customized scrollbars, firefox rejects them because it makes some people uncomfortable / various reasons. that's why i'm hoping you guys would respond tot his poll with the main browser you use!

i'm really out of ideas at the moment, i mean, i have some but they are unlikely to be a public-love thing and more of a unique thing (i will make them nonetheless), so i am hoping some of you have some sort of layouts that you would like to see? maybe you could suggest:
✖ color pallets from colourlovers.com
✖ suggest a type of font
✖ sidebar, userpic, header, etc locations
✖ background images
✖ photograph (that might inspire me)
✖ names (these would be great inspirations)
