The Piano marks the feature film debut of Denzel Washington's son, Malcolm Washington. The film is an adaptation of August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning 1987 play, and it proves to be a theatrical treat. The acting was superb, with most of the actors already working on the 2022 Broadway revival. Washington and Virgil Williams' film adaptation also has the advantage of being based on a great book, with most of the text remaining unchanged.
