Flashnote is a quick-notes manager. It has the main advantage of being small and allowing you to create notes really fast as there is no need to save them as files.

The application can be used to create notes related to such simple tasks as writing down a phone number or managing a to-do list.

The application has a simple yet unattractive interface. Notes can be created easily and stored in a tree-like structure, where new notes can be created as children of existing notes. Besides using this hierarchical organization, you can sort the created notes using various criteria, as creation time, name and modification date. Unfortunately, the application only allows simple text notes and does not support applying format to text or embedding images.

The simplest way to share your notes is by exporting them to TXT files or reversely importing contents from this same type of file. In addition, all your notes can be massively shared because they are stored on a database, which can be imported by the same application running on another machine. Similarly, the program allows synchronizing two databases, for instance, those on your desk computer and your laptop respectively.

Flashnote can be very useful when you need to take frequent notes. It can be set to run from the System Tray, so it will be easily accessible from there. Bear in mind that it is not intended to function as a personal information manager; therefore, it logically lacks some features as reminders, notifications and sticky notes.

Pros

  • It is easy to use
  • It allows several ways to share notes
  • It is quick

How do you view all notes at the same time? I only have a few words after each date and would like to see several at the same time.

Very handy, quick to access/use, automatically accesses the clipboard and annotates notes with current date and time - can move text elsewhere later when I want to, or leave it in Flashnote as history.
