Illustrator to Flash

How does one drag a vector image from Illustrator into Flash MX, and make it editable as if it were drawn in Flash? I was under the impression this was possible, but I'm having trouble with it. I'm also trying to import a file drawn in Illustrator and it says "One or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them." even after I reboot.
