Super
sumpthin' Gliese 710
Hey, there’s a wolf supermoon out, go try and see it.
It's also near Jupiter and the Quadrantid meteor shower, offering a great viewing opportunity.
I frequently find that taking a break from the news by witnessing something celestial tends to keep things in balance for the ol’ psyche, there's a lot of rubbish going on and it's likely to become more and more unhinged as a variety of plot twists start coming together like a diabolic tangle of crazy wall ephemera blistering honey over ant colonies full of meth.
I don't think that we are all that more or less crazy than our ancestors up to. I don't know maybe three or four thousand years ago, better informed on some technical details, and because of those details we have a higher chance of making things really bad for a lot of people all at once, instead of slowly, and I can't honestly say I'd call that progress.
I DO know that Gliese 710 is coming right for us. Yes, yes, yes, it will be in 1.3 million years, but look, from the Sun’s pov, that's only like five hundred eye blinks. G710 will zip through our Oort cloud and likely cause some titanic level perturbations, comet-wise, that is going to make Jupiter a very busy big booty shaker for aeons. Jupiter is pretty good at catching and disposing of lil’planet-killers, but even the Tremendous One is going to have a hard time with G710’s version of Pokemon Go.
This is all leading up to a discussion of deep time, relative to hoomahnity, but I am still collecting those thoughts, and they'll have to wait a few eye blinks before they surface. Regardless, 2026 is coming in with some big energy, I just hope it includes perspective.

Why does G710 sound like an ũber Bingo call? Also why do people play bingo? It doesn’t seem like a very likely game for a person to win.
I'll keep an eye out for G710 and let you know as soon as I spot it.
