50 Movies in 2009

Yeah, I know it's usually 100 but I really don't watch that many movies. So I will do something new-ish. :P Now I have to go to the library.

[KEY]
Movies I Haven't Seen Before are in standard font weight.
Movies I'm Re-Watching in Italics.
Movies Yet To Be Released are underlined.
[X] checks the film off the list

FILMS TO GO:
25/50

January
[X] Metropolis (4/5. An interesting and artistic looking silent by Fritz Lang. The special effects are amazing for the decade that the film was released in. The plot is thought provoking if not a bit hard to follow since, due to lack of a lot of dialogue, you are mostly shown the story. But what is seen is beautiful. Go see it! There's a chick in a Cyberman suit!

[X] Gaslight (4/5. Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer are scintillating in this Agatha Christie-esque suspense thriller. Ingrid wails and looks confused and horrified a lot. Charles looks sleazy and victimized. A young Angela Lansbury sashays about as the maid with an attitude. Altogether, quite enjoyable.

February
[X] I'm A Cyborg But That's OK (4/5. Weird. Surreal. A little be crackified. Definitely enjoyable...but a bit confusing. Maybe I don't *get* Asian humor, but some bits were definitely funny. Filmed MAGNIFICENTLY. Real eye candy.

[X] The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across The 8th Dimension (5/5. I watch this at least every year. Mom likes it a bit MORE than I do, but I like it well enough. Peter Weller is serious faced, dead-pan and absolutely lovable. Immensely quotable.
"There are monkeyboys in the facility"
"Banzai, I'll see you in HEEEELLLLLLL!"
"Evil! Pure and simple from the 8th Dimension!!!"
"Big Boo-TAY! TAY! TAY!!!!"
"Remember. No matter where you go....there ya are."

March
[X] Battle In Seattle (4/5. I found it to be a fantastic revolutionary type docudrama. Powerful, emotional acting and a great sense of constant motion and urgency.)

April
[X] Little Dorrit (4/5. A great little miniseries. In retrospect, *almost* as enjoyable as Sense and Sensibility, but not as lighthearted. Amy Dorrit is a quickly likable protagonist in a world full of funky people. There is an awesomely scary french guy with a moustache (and when I say moustache, I mean a MOUSTACHE, DUDE) and several other persons of interest. The film had doubtlessly one of the most epic climaxes I've seen since Oliver.

May
[X] Sense and Sensibility (5/5. The story of a family of women surviving in the hat eat bigger hat world of the Victorian age, a world where women could go from happy to homeless due to absurd inheritance laws, and in a particular world where, at least here, gutless brothers and their bitchy wives really suck. This film is just comfort food for me. Emma Thompson did great justice to Jane Austen's fabulous novel, and Kate Winslet is in her top form as the emotional, idealistic young Marianne. To ask me what my favorite film ever in the world is, just based on how much I identify with the characters and the story unfolded, this would have to be my favorite film of all time.

[X] Automatons (3/5. Interesting character/sociopolitical study if not a bit tedious. The kickback to 1950ies space camp/noir is a thrill for the first 50 minutes. The robots are made of win.)

[X] Iron Man (3/5. Lots of great explosions. 2D baddies. 2D goodies. Downey Jr. is funny as hell. Eye candy. Not much nutritional value.)

[X] Becoming Jane (2/5. Definitely not Sense and Sensibility as far as film making goes. Bound to pop any bubbles you had about what Jane Austen was like. Princess Diaries goes to the Victorian Age? Maybe...)

[X] The Happening (1/5. Not M Night Shyamalan's finest hour of writing or directing. Gorey camp. Well intentioned but lame attempt at an environment message. Cheesy--not necessarily the best kind of cheese. Just...no.)

[X] The Sandpiper (4/5. Liz is fantastic as a somewhat batty artist who thinks she'll never love again. Naturally she is proven wrong and naturally, disaster ensues.)

June
DIDN'T WATCH ANY NEW FILMS IN JUNE. :(

July
[X] Chocolate (5/5. Jeeja Yanin is the new Jackie Chan. The new Jet Li. The new BRUCE Lee for crying out loud. A small Thai package of awesomness. Did I mention she was in a movie? And it's a very good movie. Go see it. Or are you chicken?)

[X] Soylent Green (3/5. Charlton Heston bores as a skeezy cop in an even skeezier world. But a chilling scene involving conveyor belts and 5 even more chilling little words make enduring his bossy, pretentious, sexist character completely worth it.)

[X] The Day The Earth Stood Still--2009 remake (2/5. Let's face it. NOBODY can ruin Gort. He was, after all, the original master. Single-handedly, several minutes of a CGI robot save a film from an overbearing, whiny fluffy-headed kid, a boring single mom and a stiff, pasty-faced alien who doesn't seem to have come in peace.)

[X] The Stepford Wives (4/5. Like Soylent Green, Stepford Wives can drag a bit, but unlike Soylent Green, it's characters immediately capture you. The horror comes sooner, as well, and when this film is over, you too just might die if you don't get that goshdarn recipe.)

[X] Take Care Of My Cat (5/5. Sisterhood of the cat that gets passed from troubled teen to troubled teen. A fantastic character study of five teenage girls living in a small China town.)

[X] Roger & Me (5/5. This film is the essence of Micheal Moore. Rebellious; Horrifying; Revolting; Amazing; Revealing; Embarrassing; And All Things Witty & Ironic Put Together. Shakespeare couldn't have written a better play.)

August

[X] Logan's Run (4/5. They're remaking this, you say? It'll never work. Not without Micheal York or the underwearless girl. Or the creepy robot. Or the babe-o-matic's installed in every room. Or Orgy-Porgy. Just go rent this, you'll figure it out.)

[X] Vicky Christina Barcelona (4/5. When you've seen one Woody Allen film, you've seen them all. I've said it before and I'll say it again. According to this film, Spain is full of freaks. I refuse to believe it though, I just think Scarlett Johannson is freaky in general. And Penelope too, kind of.)

[X] Zero Population Growth (4/5. Utterly horrific vision of a future where having children is illegal. Former babysitters everywhere cheer for joy, but it's not as simple as all that. Bad things do tend to happen...)

[X] Children Of Men (5/5. A simply superb post apocalyptic scenario commentary by educated political and social thinkers. Get the two disc version, you won't regret it.)

September

October

November

[X] 10 (2/5. We are taken in the life of an Iranian...cab driver of sorts who talks to an interesting assortment of Iranian characters. The film is raw, organic and frustratingly real.)

December
[X] Jumper (2/5. Banal, confusing fluff with Hayden Christensen as an unlikable douche with the power to teleport. And there are people after him and stuff. And there's some kind of cult. And a black guy with a bad white wig. ...yeah.)

[X] The International (4/5. An excellent Tykwer directed political thriller concerning money, fraud and a man who thinks he can go up against the most powerful people in the world, bankers.)

Avatar

For The Great Justice

The Golden Globes were the saddest thin' I ever saw.

No glitz. No spritz. No glam. Somehow though, I got the feeling the stars themselves were quite happy not to have to go on crash diets to fit into that bedazzled red 1-2 puncher, or to have to wake up early to get their hair done, or to hobble down the carpet in 6 inchers, all the while flashing saccharine grins to mask their truely hassled interior. You think I take actors seriously on these things? It's another freaking show, that's all. The plastic wonder cloud world everyone wants to see. It's a facade! Last night, we witnessed the truth! There is no spoon! When it comes down to it, these awards are basically words on paper. A press conference. Suits and egos. An unwelcome slap in the face from Mr. Reality.

Perhaps I wax too dramatic.

But at any rate, god the Globes sucked. There wasn't really any Globes TO watch. I came in on the last 30 minutes of the Access Hollywood Special and stared in horror at that monstrosity. I'm not sure what was worse, seeing Queen Latifah single-handedly host the People's Choice Awards in front of no people, or what transpired last night. And it was even worse to see who was winning! I'm glad Juno didn't get anything though...I haven't seen it, but I don't like the premise. It's depressing. The actors are great but I find the story so tragic.

And this is what it is, you know? This is what happens when you forsake the people who smooth the butter on your bread. People like to joke that writers are nobody, but you know what, we ARE somebody. In fact, we are MORE than what you see on the screen. We are minds, creating and thinking constantly at millions of thoughts per second. We may not all be geniuses, in fact, some of us have no business writing at all, but the fact is, the STORY begins with us. With a word: FADE IN. And then: EXT. or INT. That is where the magic happens, at a keyboard in a quiet room with a cup of joe nearby. Without us, the billion dollar industry of film would be NOTHING. There would be no one to weave a world in words.

It is profoundly ungrateful a statement it is to say "he's just a writer".

Before man began to entertain himself with pictures that moved, he used the ultimate camera: his own imagination. His voice and his inherent creativity. And please, lets not forget, Shakespeare, the greatest playwright in the western world, was first and foremost a writer.

It is shocking to see how little the mind of the writer is appreciated. Unless of course, the movie is bad, then suddenly, all fingers point to the writer, that speck on the wall, that crushed bug on the windshield that the wipers miss by mere inches.

Shame on Tinsel Town! It's getting everything it deserves. I will not cry for the Awards shows. I will not cry for the dress that Angelina never got to wear. I will not cry for the over-priced, fattening food that never got eaten. I will not cry for Cojo who never got to rip into who was fab and who was gag. I will cry for the underappreciated writers who turn the wheels and start the cogs, whether the big-wigs want to recognize it or not. I will cry for the even MORE underappreicated crew-people, those grossly underpaid slave laborers who bring a set to life. Those who cook and clean and draw and heft and hoist and push and pull and carve. Those who hold the cameras, those who build the fake plastic starships and those that draw their concepts. All hail the cogs in the Tinsel Machine! We see you and and we acknowledge your labors! This machine is broken without you!

In closing, let me ask this: do we, the general fannish public, really realize what we mean when we say "Our heroes are our writers"? Do we really comprehend our slogans, or are we simply joining the fray, since it is the hip thing to do, whilst secretly wishing that the writers would give up already so we can get back to watching our favorite shows?

People, this is a power struggle. The Dark Side vs the Light Side. It's gone beyond our entertainment. This is about recognition. This is about being cut a bigger slice of the pie we helped bake. If shutting down Tinsel Town is what will bring the greedy corporate hogs to their knees, that is what shall be done. Tyranny can never win. That's what Democracy is supposed to be about.

What I REALLY wish for Christmas is that...

- Jamie Sommers would get her own personality on Bionic Woman.
- Maya and Sylar will hook up. (what? :P)
- Ana, Libby and Eko get resurrected on LOST. I mean ALL of them. (a girl can dream, can't she?)
- Aliens from an advanced humanoid civilization bring a fleet to earth, beam all the US Troops out of Iraq, dematerialize weapons everywhere--even the fake ones, shut down FOX News, place sentient robotic planetary guards on every corner of the planet, and finally bring peace to our corrupt world by reason that the Universe can't handle anymore Neo-Con Right WingNuts.

This was snabbed from kaaatie at some bored moment. Now I've spent far too much time on it, I realize, LOL.

STEP ONE
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

STEP TWO
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

I did this thinking 'ah, what the hell' which will explain why most of these sound pretty tounge in cheek (although #9 is dead serious after that last BW episode, arghhh.) Around this time of year when people start making lists, me and mom always have our little running joke that consists of a line from a hysterical Calvin & Hobbes strip. Calvin comes to his mom with a zillion page list that consists of various weapons of mass destruction and she stares at her funny little spiky haired son and says, "You're going to be one sad little kid on Christmas Day."

Fortunately, LJ wishlists usually involve the cloak and dagger exchange of music and graphics. Gosh I love the 'net.

My e-mail is cheetamaster9@yahoo.com. I don't want to put any addresses here cuz this is a public post, so just send me an e-mail, anon or whatever, and I'll get back with you. :)

But She's Not Serious, Is She??

1. MAYA/SYLAR FANMIX - Cuz that's my new favorite pairing, clearly. I really don't have a lot of ideas for a fanmix...though I've been thinking about it. And I have basically one song for it stuck in my head, LOL. That would be interesting to hear someone else's fanmix though. And see the pretty graphic. :)

2. PICS of your Christmas decor! Assuming you do that decor thing. I remember last year, or year before that, some of you had some very pretty decorations, tree-wise. I don't decorate, so I live vicariously through you people. :P

3. MUSIC. I lost a lot of my music with the theft of my computer, though by the grace of God, I had the foresight to upload as much of it onto my flash drive as possible. Not all of it, but I did zip up a few albums and most of my favorite scattered songs. Anyway, any music you really like and think I or anyone else should really be listening to, hey send me a link, I'd love to hear it. I'm always collecting new music, whatever the genre (but please, no heavy metal, death metal, goth metal or anything resembling Evanescence) I prefer classic rock, some country (like Red Foley, Dixie Chicks) Ballad or easy listening type songs (Elvis, Norah Jones, Johnny Cash type artists) I love classical music, in fact if you have any Bach or Tchaikovsky, Chopin, I would LOVE to hear it. Opera is fun, SOME R&B, not that racy stuff (I tend to listen to mostly Alicia Keys, Beyonce or Macy Grey type stuff) Anything from far-off-foreign-lands is cool too. Hit me!

4. ELDER SCROLLS: OBLIVION. I know, why would I put this here, I don't have a computer, I can't play it and I don't think the school computers have the muscle to accommodate it. This is really more of an FYI for me personally since I <strike>don't really need</strike> but desperately want that game--on a 360, actually. Not a PC. So maybe when I get a 360. Anyway, I'm just putting it here, to add to the true Christmassy thing of wanting but never having, y'know? :P

5. AN XBOX 360. :P Another personal FYI. I was going to buy a used one off of Ebay like a year ago but some fool slipped in a bid at the last second. Bastard. It won't happen again....or I'll send Jessica after him, mwahaha.

6. This will seem really silly, and I'm not being very serious, this is one of those 'hey, wouldn't it be cool if..."'s.

So, wouldn't it be cool if: foxestacado painted or sketched a wallpaper sized piece of fanart that features characters resembling Michelle Rodriguez, Richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping, Joe Flanigan, (younger)David Duchovney, Gillian Anderson and Jason Momoa, either in the form of their most popular characters or out, as long as they are in surroundings that look kind of spacey and sci fi-ish. There are three stories by Ray Bradbury I'm thinking of which each have inspired my visualized setup for the piece of art, they are The Long Rain, A Sound Of Thunder and Marionettes INC. Why those people and why those stories, you ask? It's a kind of fanfic thing I've been working on, to date it has no plot and no title, but those people are in it and the story is very Bradbury inspired. That's all I shall say. This is so dumb and Fox, if you read this, it is completely up to you if you take up a project like that, I know you're very busy and have your own issues to cope with. This is like...if you ever decide you'd like to sketch or paint something one day out of sheer boredom, maybe next week, maybe next year, I'm just putting this idea out there. You have complete creative freedom with this.

7. A MUSIC VIDEO (mostly Maya/Sylar centric) music video set to Pure Morning by Placebo.

8. scary_tan to make an icon post already. :P

9. Dark Angel to crossover onto Bionic Woman and kick Jaime's ass. Really...this has gone on far enough. There's only room for one cool and COMPETENT brunette in this town.

Or just the Dark Angel DVD's...

10. BOOKS. Sci Fi, or Philip K Dick type crack. No George Orwell, he's too long winded. Any books by Ray Bradbury. The Dune series (I need a good laugh). Wonder Woman comics. The Silent Miaow by Paul Gallico.

But I wish of course, most of all, that you ALL have a happy, pleasant, I-Stuffed-Myself-Sick-With-Goodies Holiday.

Richard III
35% Intellectual, 17% Impetuous, and 29% Trusting

You are a pretty bad lot, all things considered. While the historical King Richard III was an efficient (if brutally pragmtic) monarch, Shakespeare portayed him as a power-mad tyrant who lied, cheated and murdered his way to the top before the people of England rose up in rebellion and destroyed him like the contempible worm he was. If you dare, you can find out more about your nasty counterpart here.

You scored low on Intellectual not for a lack of brains but because you tend to use your emotions and instincts when making difficult decisions. Perhaps you would get into less trouble if you thought through the consequences of your actions before doing anything. Emotional well-being is all well and good, but you need to balance that a bit better with rational analysis.

Ironically, you also scored low on Impetuous. Unfortunately, while you do think about your actions, you tend to focus on how best to get what you want rather than ask whether or not it is worth having. Perhaps it would be a good idea to review if you should even be doing what you are doing before investing so much time in planning it!

Finally, your Trusting score was also low. This means that while you are out there getting into trouble because you're committing to things on instinct and then planning how to accomplish them, you are doing so without the benefit of friends or authority figures to help you. If you could learn to trust other people more, you might find that you keep out of trouble -- or, at least, once getting in you may have a few more resources at hand for getting you out of the mess that you've made of things.

FREE $250 Cookie Recipie! Get it while it's hot!

My mum forwarded me this tragically funny story. Do give it a read - not only if you love cookies, but if you love cookies recipies worth 250 bucks. Them's has to be some good cookies for that price. :P

My daughter and I had just finished a salad at a Neiman-Marcus Café in
Dallas, and we decided to have a small dessert. Because both of us are
such cookie lovers, we decided to try the"Neiman-Marcus cookie." It was
so excellent that I asked if they would give me the recipe, and
the waitress said with a small frown, "I'm afraid not, but you can buy
the recipe."
Well, I asked how much, and she responded, "Only two fifty-it's a
great deal!" I agreed to that, and told her to just add it to my tab.
Thirty days later, I received my VISA statement, and the Neiman-Marcus
charge was $285.00! I looked again, and I remembered I had only spent
$9.95 for two salads and about $20.00 for a scarf. As I glanced at the
bottom of the statement, it said, "Cookie Recipe-$250.00". That was
outrageous!
I called Neiman's Accounting Department and told them the waitress said
it was "two fifty", which clearly does not mean "two hundred and fifty
dollars" by any reasonable interpretation of the phrase.
Neiman-Marcus refused to budge. They would not refund my money because,
according to them, "What the waitress told you is not our problem. You
have already seen the recipe. We absolutely will not refund your money
at this point."
I explained to the Accounting Department lady the criminal statutes
which govern fraud in the state of Texas. I threatened to report them
to
the Better Business Bureau and the Texas Attorney General's office for
engaging iin fraud.
I was basically told, "Do what you want. Don't bother thinking of how
you can get even, and don't bother trying to get any of your money
back." I just said, Okay, you folks got my $250, and now I'm going to
have
$250 worth of fun." I told her that I was going to see to it that
every cookie lover in the United States with an e-mail account has a
$250 cookie recipe from Neiman-Marcus...for free.

She replied, "I wish you wouldn't do this."

I said, "Well, perhaps you should have thought of that before you
ripped me off!" and slammed down the phone.
So here it is! Please, please, please pass it on to everyone you can
possibly think of. I paid $250 for this, and I don't want Neiman-Marcus
to EVER make another penny off of this recipe!

NEIMAN-MARCUS COOKIES (Recipe may be halved)
2 cups butter
24 oz. chocolate chips
4 cups flour
2 cups brown sugar
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
2 cups sugar
1 8 oz. Hershey Bar (grated)
5 cups blended oatmeal
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)

Measure oatmeal, and blend in a blender to a fine powder. Cream the
butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix together with flour,
oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. Add chocolate chips, Hershey
Bar, and nuts. Roll into balls, and place two inches apart on a cookie
sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Makes 112 cookies.

PLEASE READ THE RECIPE AND SEND IT TO EVERY PERSON YOU KNOW WHO HAS AN
E-MAIL ADDRESS! THIS IS REALLY TERRIFIC!!

Even if the people on your e-mail list don't eat sweets send it to
them and ask them to pass it on. Let's make sure we get these ladies
$250.00 worth.

Enjoy the cookies, they are good....
Thank You,
Rachael

Lost: The Ultimate X-File - A Rambling by O-Ra

I just had an incredibly funny thought while reading a script for All The Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues. It came to me when I read the unlined line: "What the frack is he?" Interesting Javi would write "What" instead of "Who". The writer - being so much more knowledgeable about the subject he's writing on than the veiwer - sometimes makes little slips here and there, because subconsciously, he wants to tell his secrets. For those of use lucky enough to care and enjoy reading scripts, portents wash forth to us like sand in the waves. Anyway, so I came up with this hilarious theory:

What if: The Losties aren't human at all? What if they're brainwashed alien hybrids who were born on earth, and are being culled or gathered up by their contacts from the Mothership, who are messing around with Human/Alien DNA for some reason? What if the whole island thing really is some kind of experiment - but not one performed by human on human - nor even human on alien...but alien on alien? These poor guys don't even know they're aliens! Imagine their disbelief and shock when they find out...

Undeniable proof the ultimate X-File is Lost:

The Island
Psychological Shipwreck? Mass delusion? Satanic mousetrap? Ha! The Island is The Extraterrestrials version of Area 51. Here, they have brought their brainwashed flesh and blood, to be the subject of the creulest scientific experiment performed by aliens to date.

The Hatch
As pertains to the hatch, it could be one of many things. One: A homing beacon for when the Mothership (AKA; Rescue) comes. Two: Our Alien Hybrid Losties may actually be deliberatly programmed/authorized to run the computers in the Hatch for some alien-ish reason. Three: Thanks to the nifty Orientation video, The Losties subliminally remember/understand that the numbers must be inputted into the computer so that Base Control back "home" can upgrade the software for the system running the functions of the Island. Going without inputting the numbers could cause the whole project to malfunction, causing radar telemetry to deactivate, which means that the signal for the island's location would be lost, stranding our hybrid losties, and ruling the experiment moot.

The Numbers
As per the explanation for the Hatch, the Numbers recurr in our Losties lives for the simple reason that they will soon have to put them to use for personal and universal salvation.

So, how did they end up on the Island?
E.T works in mysterious ways. A bigger question is - why are our Alien-Hybrid Losties all heading to LA? Obviously, they are linked in the singular purpose of phoning home - as it were. There's something bigger than them and their pitiful lives as humans, and deep down inside, locked away in some dormant area of their superior grey-matter, they know it. They all must come together, survive together and fulfill a greater purpose.

So what, is Alvar Hanso really Klaatu? Is Aaron the salvation of some dying Alien race?

Not Klaatu exactly. Perhaps Mr. Hanso made a deal with the Aliens to orchestrate this little re-union. It's a good chance he's a large part of it. To classify him as human is still hanging in the air. He could still be on earth in human form, or perhaps he's overseeing the experiment and eventual rescue of his earth-stranded brethren. Or - maybe he's your proverbial Cigarette Smoking Man.

As for Aaron, gene testing anyone? Obviously Aaron is some kind of Nephiliam - "Son of God" or "Son of Man/Alien". He's the prototype for the New, Improved Human Being, bought and paid for by U.S&E.T Inc! He's what will populate this earth millenia from now when all the real humans are old and weak! Earths Repopulation by an improved, war-hating, truth-loving, god-trusting, all-around-better, I Can't Believe He's Not %100 Home-Grown Human is soon to come!

Alright O-Ra, since you're so smart, explain Ethan. Goodwin. The Others. The List. The Limbs and various disembodied body parts. Lockes's Legs. The Radio? Danielle???

The Others: Alien/Hybrids obviously, part of the mass experiment. Call 'em Alien Tech Support if you will. Some - like dear old Ethan - specialize in innoculating certain messiah alien hybrid babies from human diseases and injecting the final genetic touches to render him the perfect replacment for Humans.

The List: "Nathan wasn't a good person. That's why his name wasn't on The List." Now, if you listen closely, our good friend Goodwin enunciates "on the list". Obviously he wouldn't have been killed - partly if poor confused Ana hadn't exposed him times 2, and if his name had been on the list. So, just what IS the list? I figure it's some kind of tally of all the good prospects in the experiment. Perhaps our Alien Hybrids are pretty picky about DNA samplings. Maybe he was a crap specimen. Either way, poor Nathan was discarded of.

The Limbs: Symbolically, they represent the fake life that our hybrid losties have to leave behind. Realistically, they're a sign to the hybrids that nothing is what it seems to be...

The Radio: Did anyone see M.Knights Signs? Aliens are always messing around with radio broadcasts. The best way to reach people who think they're human is by the same way you mess around with us human's heads. Send 'em weird static filled 40ies radio stations, looping messages in French and other weird magnetic things (all which prove that the person behind all this is a master of Subliminal suggestion, electromagnetics, physics and space-time, so clearly not human.) Why they don't just beam someone down? Sure be easier. But alas, the time has not yet come to reveal all.

Danielle: And Alex, don't forget Alex. She knows what it's all about. She may in fact be the only one aware of what she is. The Other Hybrids have taken Alex, who was probably the first attempt at a perfect Second Generation Alien/Human Hybrid. Dani's scrapped the mission, caring only to get her kid back, warn the human populace of her races plans for our civilization, and pilot a pod home to another galaxy. Why not tell our Losties what they are? They're too caught up in their lives as humans. They won't believe her. Would you believe it if someone told you were an Alien? Especially with no cool powers to prove it. All she can do is wait till she gets her kid back, then *pfft* she's outta there.

In luei of all this, we can look back to Part 2 of the Pilot (or was the ep after that?) when Charlie asked in ominous apprehension: "Guys...where are we?"

Do feel free to point out any contradictions. ...If you can find any.
Reading the last bit of that fic I just recommended, a thought seeds in my head. Wouldn't it be painfully ironic to have an Ana/Sayid ship? Hey, it's happened in movies before. So what if her bullet met his girlfriend. Opposites attract! :P

Watching my favorite Fraiser ep. The one where he gets his underroos in a twirl cuase someone said they hate him. ROFLMAO! Frais is an utter scream. I learned my first big word from this show. "Eclectic". I oughtta use it more often.

OMG! Just saw RDA on a mastercard commercial! LMAO! Mom said she recognized his butt first, ROFL! Me: Is his butt that memorable?" :P

I never recommend fanfiction usually...but I really like this one. It's Sayid centric, and Ana's in it as well. What impresses me is how the writer captures both characters without being too biased either way. You're hard pressed to find a good Ana fic anyway. Check it out, it's called Raising An Army

Lost and Lovin' it!

Lost was great tonight. Fresh jungle air. Funky rain/thunderstorms, freaky island-based flashbacks. Heaven. Utter heaven. And Other Man! Whooooooot! Gotta love Other Man.

I did it! No spoilers, see? :P

Ok, I can't keep it in.

OMG, I LOVED THIS EP! *contains fangirlism* The other hatch was a wonder to see. Emily's great as the frantic-mum, and Danielle is cool as usual, although I do think she could look less blah once in awhile. Very cool. And Eko! Nice to see him talking again! Sheesh. I was a wee bit scaired when he pulled that knife out (by the way...where did he get it? I thought AL had the knife...) but I knew he'd be nice. As nice as a merc turned priest can be. :P I liked the island-based flashback. Shows more insight as to what the island actually is. Be nice to see more episodes like that.

Meanwhile, I'm still wondering about this army. I wonder why Jack would use the word 'Army', considering...I dunno, most of them are civilians? I was hopped up about it at first, but now, I'm starting to think...those wallflies in the B.G tending fires and pounding sticks into the ground aren't going to be much use against Mr. Friendly and his merry band of Others. Plus, it doesn't help that Ana seems to have misplaced her vest. How are you supposed to look cool in front of the troops without the nessesary garb?? Ach.

So, I have to wait another week for the next ep? Great. Juuuust great. Well, I'm sure I'll have some avs cranked out by then. I'm thinking of making a separate graphics journal since people are starting to friend me. Mmm, fame! Gotta love it!

I'm worried. Is it a bad sign that I've taped electric tape on four of my fingers and written FATE on them?

TH-HO Teaser and fic ramblings.

Ana and O’Neill shared another stare which was deciphered from either end as a slightly threatening portent, and subtly moved their line of vision on to other – decidedly less interesting – prospects.

So, I'm not entirely sure how Ana and Jack (O'Niell) turned into arch rivals. Jack's a pretty nice guy once ya get to know him! It's not his fault she met him on the end of a gun! Oh well...I guess I'll roll where the fic goes, lol.

So! I shall just tease this silly fic again since the last tease was missed, I assume. :P Pkus I just like teasing things. :P

Teal’c was in a black jumpsuit, a Dharma logo patched onto the left breast side. Engraved on it was the symbol familiar only to people on the other side of the island whom he didn’t know yet. It was the symbol for Station Six. Teal’c never thought about the patch or why it was there, what it stood for. He just accepted it and went about his business. He was eating cheerios in a rushed fashion. He had someplace to be soon, couldn’t waste time eating. He easily wolfed down the bowl, had another glass of Lactose free milk and zipped up his jumper.

As per his daily routine, he made his way down the curved stairs until he reached an area loud with the noise of pumping generators. Creaks, sudden thudding clanks and a spurt of cursinig alerted him to the presence of someone nearby. He peeked around a wall of pipe-work papered with graphed schematics.

“Matt?”

Teal’c pressed on, looking around slightly.

“Hey, Matt! You in here, man?”

“Over here!”

A rear poked out from behind another wall. Teal’c headed over.

Matt was a medium stature, good looking young guy. His hair was thick and curly, pretty nappy if he hadn’t washed it in awhile, a nice mixed looking face and a goatee he kept well groomed. He wore the same black jumper as Teal’c, only it was wet and dirty from doing heavy lifting and moving work. At the moment, he labored over sliding one of two large glass face plates into a brushed steel frame.

“Help me out, Damon, this base needs to be repaired before the replacements get here. “

“We’re getting them today?”

“Naw, ‘bout a week from now. Sorry, forgot to tell ya, the message came over the computer today.”

“Oh, so we can go home soon then. Thank god.”

Teal’c (known as Damon otherwise. He wasn’t at the moment in the know of his past as a traitorous first prime of Apophis. For all he knew, he’d been recruited for some bizarre work on an island for the meager pay of 20 bucks a week) was happy to know he’d be given a break soon. He was tired of the work, though he was used to it. Station Six was very different from the Swan Station. No crazy 108 minute button pushing here. Here, the work was done on hundreds of cadavers, preserved in a room further into the earth below the generator section. The glass face plate they were replacing was for the protection of highly sensitive equipment used in various experiments that were performed on the cadavers. Neither Matt nor “Damon” were sure of what the whole thing was about. Matt had washed ashore on the Island several years ago when a storm had hit the yacht he was living on with his two cats and girlfriend. Next thing he’d known, he’d found a man, who’d led him to a hatch, who told him it was important that he help him out with the experiments. They’d carved into the cadavers for months, Matt was supremely disgusted by the whole thing, but the man seemed to know what he was doing. The cadavers went into a special Iso-chamber when the experiments were complete, to stay there for a time while the experiments continued. Then Matt’s fellow Dharma Operative had left suddenly, leaving him alone. He’d just disappeared, Matt had told Teal’c, just like that, no warning, no notice, no explanation. He’d left the main computer on with a note saying “Do Not Touch, wait for proper operator to manage” but that was all. Matt had been alone for 8 months before Teal’c had come, just like Matt had. Teal’c didn’t seem to know anything about what the note was all about, so Matt had taught him the ropes, and now here they were. They found they had a lot in common. Teal’c would have bad dreams at night, Crazy weird stuff with men who wore funky get-ups and whose eye’s glowed and who talked funny. Then there were these three people, two guys and a girl, dressed in military clothes, plus Teal’c, who’d go through a shimmering pool of water. Of course Teal’c didn’t remember any of that and assumed it was the side effect of staying up late and smelling formaldehyde. Matt had equally weird dreams, and a recurring motif in both of their dreams was a boat filled with people, heading towards an island.

“Hey, maybe in another life we were, like, sailors or something.” Matt joked.

“Naw, I think I’m seasick.” Teal’c joked back.

Both thought another life might not be so far from the truth, in any case.

*sits back satisfied* yep. I think it works. I'll update my Fanfic.net soon. I'm just glad I finished Chapter 8. It's named "Thundercats - HO!" after the slogan of moms favorite 80ies cartoon series. It kind of fits...but actually, I'm thinking to change it. Think I'll save it for a later episode. Maybe a new title would be..."Evening Edition" or... "Station Six"...bah, I'll think of something.

Meanwhile, I have script ideas that need to get out. Man...so much writing, so little time. Damn fanfic...

So, WifeSwap's almost on...I need to do something graphically wise. More headers. Yes. I recently discovered you can create sites the easy way in Microsoft Publisher. Dumb me, I was doing it the hard way. Well, this changes stuff, so, I can drop Geocities and work on a new site to upload somewhere.

So, headers, I redid my new ones, now I'm workin' on more. SGA, SGA, more Lost (what can I say, it's my obsession) and BSG. I'm having a time finding good quality caps. Maybe there's some on cap_it...

I'll make more avs too.
